If there isn't enough evidence to show he shot at her instead of up in the air, then why do people keep asserting that he shot at her? We don't even know that. (Btw, I think forensics would be able to tell you if he shot up or laterally.)

What the hell? When are people gonna stop wasting time AND bandwidth posting about EG? He screwed us over already yet some here want him to screw us over again.

And what is this "immature" or "made a stupid mistake" bullcrap. People here can honestly keep a straight face when telling me that a 21 year old shouldn't be able to tell that SHOOTING SOMEBODY IS WRONG? I don't even give that kind of leeway to stupid 16 yr olds.

Hell will freeze over before EG every plays for the Alexander/JVG/Dawson regime, and rightly so. Its a sure thing IMO, just like death and .............

Who cares if he shot up in the air or not? Either way it is not something I want a member of my Houston Rockets to be doing. Harm intended or not, that is still a frightening experience for his ex-girlfriend. He gets busted with another girl and gets upset and shoots at his girlfriend??? Where's the logic in that?

And with regard to the nightclub...why would he take 15 days in jail if he felt guilt-free and confident that he did not violate his probation?

Forensic science can prove that if they find where the bullet landed, but he shot out doors. He didn't hit her or her car. Do you know how difficult it is to find where a bullet goes outdoors? Without finding where the bullet landed, how exactly could they discover whether he shot towards her or up in the air? By smelling the gun? I'm seriously curious as to how you imagine them doing this.

HOUSTON (AP) -- Former Houston Rockets forward Eddie Griffin remained in jail Thursday after choosing a 15-day sentence for violating his probation rather than go to a hearing that could have resulted in a harsher punishment, a court official said.

Griffin, on probation after pleading guilty in a 2003 assault case, was listed as a witness in a Wednesday disturbance at the Roxy club in Houston, according to Virginia Cerda, a state district court coordinator. It was a violation of his probation because he was "consorting with disreputable people" at a compromising time of day, Cerda said.

Griffin was jailed Wednesday and would get out July 20, a spokeswoman at the Harris County Jail said Thursday.

Griffin is a free agent who played last year with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was released by the Rockets in 2003 and later signed with the New Jersey Nets. Griffin, the seventh pick in the 2001 draft, averaged 8.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.63 blocks in 150 career games with the Rockets.

Griffin was charged for fighting with a woman who alleged he beat her and fired a gun in her direction at his Houston-area home in October 2003. Griffin has been in trouble several times throughout his career at Seton Hall and in the NBA.

I think people are still in love with this guys *potential*, but to fulfill that potential, he`d have to be hungry, willing to work hard at his game (especially that ugly flat shot), and dedicate his life to the game. I just dont see it happening. If I were JVG/CD/LA and co. I wouldnt touch this kid, and put him next to the players we have who want to win... TMac, Yao, and co.

Which brings me to an another point, As much as I like Swift`s athleticism and *potential* these two`s attitutes seem scary similar.

My roommate works at the jail that Griffin is in at the moment, he mentioned that he looks soft and a little pudgy.

Of course, Eddies .328 shooting looks terrible beside Tmacs .326, right?
Now, if you speak of overall FG% then this would be a good point.

I don't agree with the dumb choices Eddie made with his life but I don't agree with the finacial decisions the Rockets made involving him either.

Griffin impressed me last season when he got the chance to start for minnesota when they had injury issues. Me, I'd bring him back but I, by no means, expect it to happen.
