NBA Uniform Color Distruibution

    Ok i was really bored but i figured there is someone else out there who finds this info neat. I heard a study done somewhere overseas say sports teams wearing red have a higher correlation with success (which may or may not be a coincidence) so i broke down the NBA color distribution. Some teams have other colors but these are their dominant ones. In the NFL Blue is even more popular with only 4 teams sporting Red. I thought it was surprising Black wasn’t more popular and that so many teams used purple.

    I heard that the NBA has been discouraging the use of black as the main color in uniforms. I think it had to do with gangs or something. I'm also pretty sure the Clippers have a blue road uniform now...

    Does PHX sport an orangeish uni w/ silver stripe on the side?

    Almost looks like a salmon.

    I think I will always picture that powder blue everytime I hear the Cavs mentioned. My brain just wont process a red cavaliers uniform

    Every team seems to have like 4 uniforms now, so that list is kind of hard to adhere to.

    na. Since the Grizz left Vancover Toronto is trying to become Canada's team by changing their colors to red and white. They are slowly phasing out the purple uni's

    i hope the rockets come out with a black alternate uni. that would be sweet. and we should do it just to screw with stern, since he has a problem with the color black. and gangs isn't a good excuse considering blue and red are the big colors in the gang world. and how many teams use blue and red???? 19 or 20? stern is an idiot.

    Lakers have an alternate white home jersey but of course their yellow has been the main home jersey for years.

    They did have the Jordan era pinstripe black alternate. But this past season the Bulls debuted a new a new black alternate jersey. It was worn against the Sixers I believe.

    Also, Miami's Black jersey is actually the primary road jersey. The red jersey is classified as the alternate jersey.

    And regarding black jersey's being discourage.....totally false. The C's will debut a Black alternate jersey this upcoming season. It was supposed to make its debut last season but was help up due to production delays. The Knicks are also planning a black alternate for the 07 season. No official word on what the Rockets will do for 07' but I've heard black mentioned many times. Silver just does not show up well on TV. As always, as soon as I get official word on the Rockets alternates, I will let you guys know.....
