For the record, I don't think that Baqui99 HATES the Head pick - he just wanted the Rockets to draft one of the PF candidates available on the board when they picked Head. It was a good pick but one that did not address their starting PG or PF problems.

Not so! His so-so play ON the court didn't help his cause at all.

If he can play good defense against the 1's,hit the open jumper and make an occasional entry pass I will be satisfied because I don't expect more than that from him at least for now.

That's why I said the off court stuff "kill" Eddie Griffin's development so he never become as good as he could be.

Looks like Luther is getting acquainted with the Houston nightlife at Milkshake at the M Bar. I bet you they took Stromile there last night too.

If I'm "missing the sarcasm", please forgive me. But isn't this really a picture of T-Mac with Head's head superimposed on T-Mac's body? I haven't read every post on this thread so I may have missed something.

You don't think T-Mac might be an inch or two taller than MJ?

In the thread a few weeks ago where many were venting their anti-Mike James feelings, someone posted several photos with him and T-Mac. It seemed like one of them was just like this one. I guess not.

Why do you think it's Head's head superimposed on T-Mac's body?

Edit: nevermind, you answered it before I hit submit.

Here's the T-Mac picture. The woman in the middle is the promoter of the event at M Bar.

I see Head as a more athletic Cassell. Both are very similar in that they are both fearless. The plus side is that Head is more athletic than Sam, thus making him superior defender to Sam. I am excited to see him play for us this year.

I think you can get into to trouble by trying to fill needs in the draft, unless the guy you want also fills a need. I think the much smarter route is to draft the best player available and fill immediate needs throught FA or trades. Plus Simien never got through a college season without getting hurt, and Taft and could very well be the next Cato. I think that is why the Rockets took Drew and Truksan instead of Lewis - trying to fill needs instead of going best available.

And we all know how Bryce Drew & Turskan turned out. I agreed with stevel that under this year's situation, Rockets made a good move drafting Luther Head. Although we desperately needs a good PF, it just ain't having none left at #24 when we pick.
