I hope the Rockets have Cat as their backup plan to Simmons. It doesn't look like any particular team has him as their #1 target. Meaning he will probably need to settle for the MLE unless competition for him heats up once some players are committed to other teams and a S&T offer is made. Looks like Cavs, Clippers, Denver are looking to add a SG. While Seattle, Washington, Phoenix & Bucks looking to retain their guy might go get a cheaper SG if their guy leaves. But then again, they might direct their money to a bigger guy. Bucks & Seattle might save the money for next offseason. Redd, Mobley, Simmons, Allen, Hughes, Joe Johnson all MLE or MLE+ players. Not quite enough to go around.
I'm gonna agree with the poster who pointed out that we started meshing under Karl. I'm not ready to panic. As for Simmons, he's my #1 choice. Hell, he's #2 and #3 as well. He and Livingston (and the fact that I'm a little too obsessed with NBA ball) are the only reasons I would stay up late watching Clippers games on League Pass last season. Wrong, wrong and wrong. We do not have anything more than MLE space. Hodge is a small, but there's a question if Kleiza will be a 3 or 4, and even if he'll play in the NBA this year. As for Vo, he's gone. Finally, we'd love Joe Johnson, but couldn't afford it if we wanted to. Right now, it appears that we'll go after Cat and Simmons. We're reportedly offering Nene as trade bait. There's some speculation that that will leave us with our MLE still, and we will go after Jaric with that.
As much as I like him, wouldn't you still need a sharp shooter? He may have hit above .400 from 3 last year, but he didn't attempt very many and hasn't been a deep threat his other 3 years in the L. The Denver Post is talking about Hilario and Lenard in a Mobley S&T. Evan
