This is in reference to this old thread:
    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=90724

    <a href="http://bbs.clutchfans.net/forumdisplay.php?f=8">NBA Dish</a> forum
    <a href="http://bbs.clutchfans.net/forumdisplay.php?f=15">College, International Hoops & NBA Draft</a> forum

I'm just adding a final poll to it before taking action. Here are the options:

<B>1) YES - Merge the "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft" with the "NBA Dish" forum.</B>
This means the "college" forum goes bye-bye, with all posts in there coming over to the NBA Dish. The name of the NBA Dish may change to something more broad (basketball or hoops). Main pro being the forum is bigger and more topics to discuss ... the con being it's not very specialized.

<B>2) NO - Make the "College, International Hoops & NBA Draft" forum a sub-forum of the "NBA Dish"</B>
Basically not much changes, you would just not see the "college" forum on the front page. You would see a link to it on the NBA Dish forum ... I believe the "last post" counters change on the front page for the NBA Dish even if the last post is in the college forum. Not much of a change.

    <B>3) NO - Keep it as is</B>
    Nothing changes.

Umm, have you ever been in the college and international forum? Because I don't think the extra three threads a week will provide too much clutter around here.

Combine them. I mean in the Hangout you get sports, weird news, polls on bathroom behavior, hot chicks, computer problems, and severed body part topics all in one place, and I don't hear anyone complaining that it's not specialized enough.

as a yes voter, i'm glad to see yes's winning 2 to 1 right now. combine them, then the int'l threads might have enough posts to sustain them.

I think the Draft could be merged into NBA dish, and International only in the context of the Dream Teams, but I don't think College belongs unless it is as a separate subforum.

We'll we're on it, could the Rockets Saved/Arena forum be downsized?

Have you checked out the Rockets saved forum lately??

I think a sub-forum is the way to go. THe NBA talk needs to be seperated out from the Rockets forum anyway.

I voted Yes, but I wonder if a sub-forum would work. I'd have to see it in action. In general, there is a bunch of confusion regarding draft prospects, as these conversations are split between 3 forums, so it'd be good to bring that into NBA Dish. International hoops won't have much impact on the forum anyway. I am worried that with more prominence, more people will talk college ball, and I hate for that to crowd out pro ball. But anyway, go ahead and do it.

It looks like from the voting it will end up happening.

I wouldn't worry about college ball ... I usually end up moving the March Madness threads from the Hangout to the "college" forum anyhow. There usually are not a lot, but in my opinion it ties to NBA Draft in a lot of ways anyhow. Even if there are a lot of threads in February and March, I still don't view it as a big deal. I think we all want this forum to become as viewed as possible.

I started the "NBA Draft, etc." forum when the Rockets were in the lottery and I did all the draft coverage, profiles, lotto generator, mock draft madness stuff that was real popular. Registration was free then and that forum got a lot more traffic.

Now, the Rockets are out of the lotto and I haven't been doing that kind of draft coverage. While things could change there and registration could open up again, right now it doesn't justify its own forum I don't think. But I'm still open to what the majority decides.

I just like having the draft talk somewhere besides the GARM

..I mean in the off season, we need that forum clean so everyone can read that someone saw Charles Jones and Chris Jent at the Whole Food's on Kirby !

Yeah, I think is a good idea to merge this forum, and the will be something like: Basketball in the world or hoops around the world

The draft forum is almost always dead, might as well merge it with NBA forum.

I liked it the way it was but I understand the voting isn't going well. Overall, it isn't a big deal.

Still what is wrong with only a few threads a week in a forum? I like having more choices to target what I feel like reading and commenting on, and where to go after big events (NCAAs, international comp, draft, etc). From the main page you can tell if the area has received new posts and don't have to go back page after to page to comment on a guy you remember another guy talked about who you finally got a chance to see. Plus the area as is attracts those who watch/know something about college ball/international prospects, and doesn't attract those who don't, which I like.

Common "no's" lets pick it up, and quick ;)

I'm a little gunshy for some reason to pull the trigger on this, but I haven't forgotten it. I will probably wait until after the draft. The poll is still open. Thanks to everyone for their input!

Pull the trigger already. Or wait until news of our PF signing. That should be a decent distraction for everyone. ;)

No, no, keep the veto in order. If two thirds 66.6% are in favor for 1 combined forum I'll give up. :D

Clutch, IMO you might just revamp the board. Reorganize topics into more logical forums. The C, IH, & NBA Draft is really all about the draft. The dish is about almost everything in the NBA except the Rockets and the Draft. Keep the Nba Dish; add NBA Draft; and remove C, IH, & NBA Draft. The GARM is difficult to categorize since during the season it is fairly straight forward, but in the off-season anything goes. For instance, there are currently several threads on the GARM about who the announcers for the games are gonna be. Which part GARM allows those threads. Game Action is a more limited subject than Roster Moves, and there just isn't anywhere to put miscellaneous Rox posts. I would like to see you split GARM into Rockets Dish and Rockets Roster Moves and Rockets Draft. This might help people figure out where to put their posts. Of course it put many self-appointed guardians of the GARM out of work.

Don't you think you can remove the topic of the arena now. Does it cost more to have more forums or is it just convienience or what. If you explain to us what you are after maybe that would make sense to us.

I would personally prefer more smaller forums than large bloated forums with many overlapping subjects.

    Something like this:

NBA Dish - What it is now
NBA Draft - Draft info about College or International players not associated directly with the Rockets
Rockets Dish - Game Action, Videos, Misc.
    Rockets Roster Moves
Rockets Draft - Rocket specific draft info
    Rockets Classified

The draft board gets busy only one time a year, college gets busy one time a year, International news comes in usually during the olympics

I think we just keep it how it is
