Anyone else go to the comp usa sale?

    Anyone else go to the comp usa sale tonight?

    I just needed a modest desktop for home for mainly internet and word processing.

    They were out of the comp I wanted but let me order it which allowed me to upgrade processor.

    Ended up getting for $220 after rebate,

    Amd Athlon 64 3200 +
    512 MB DDR
    160 GB
    Double Layer 16x DVD RW
    9 in 1 Card Reader

    Also picked up a 17 inch flat pannel for 179.99 after rebate, which came with a cannon printer free after rebate... so whole package for right at 400.

    I thought that was a good deal, for a comp to be left at home while I'm off at college.... hopefully there isn't something bad about the deal I didn't catch

    Don't trust CompUSA rebates. You're lucky if you get your money back.

    The best deal on a computer was when Fry's had their sale on a PC for $100 - NO REBATES. Sure it was a Sempron processor, but hell, where you going to get a PC for $100?

    I've always gotten my rebates back it seems... the people who have a lot of trouble getting rebates back.. is it a matter of not filling things out correctly or something?

    Always make copies of your rebates before sending them in. That way there's no dispute about anything.

    Are there any other good computer sales this weekend?
    Does anyone have a Fry's ad? I am looking for a scan that shows the HP Athlon 64 PC bundle for $600 (AR)

    Try Techbargains.com They usually have links to Fry's ads.

    I tried searching at techbargains. Found Fry's ads for all the citities except Houston. The following site also lists Fry's ad but it didnt list the HP desktop that I wanna see: http://www.frys-electronics-ads.com/

    Its weird. I just found a 1 page Fry's ad in the sundays paper but it doesnt list the HP pc that I am looking for yet this site does: http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/491481/

    I dont want to drive to Fry's for nothing as its not close to me.
    If anyone is going to Fry's can you verify this sale for me :D
