From democrats.com It looks to my untrained eye that she is costing the taxpayers over $500,000. And these are the people who are supposed to represent the little guy. Are they trying to tell us the Hillary could not find office space for less than 500 grand. Rediculous. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
id like you to look at all senators office's and tell me what the costs are. dont just pick one democratic senator out. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com mgh 1925-2001 [This message has been edited by dc rock (edited March 22, 2001).]
I was just using the one office mentioned on the web site you are promoting. If your buddies over at democrats.com don't want to be referenced like that then they shouldn't have published the information. I just think it is hypocritical the way dems throw around money, isn't this the sort of thing their party is against. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
Well, we could note that Chuck Shumer (the other NY Senator, also a Democrat) pays $209,532 per year for his office just a block away from Hillary's. According to CNN, Hillary's office rent is more than any other Senator. Senator Moynihan's rent was $280,000 per year when he rented those offices that would now cost $627,000 per year. The blurb from Democrats.com also makes it sound like Hillary is changing spaces out of the goodness of her heart and desire to save the public some money. It fails to mention that the GSA limits for Senator's office rent would prevent continuing to rent the Chrysler Building space. Sen. Clinton's new office space is right at the limit of $91.14 psf of the GSA (Sen. Clinton's offices cost $91 psf). So, if we want to be truthful, Senator Clinton is saving taxpayers just over $800 per year at most. The GSA wouldn't have paid more than the $91.14 psf anyway, so anything more than the GSA limit would have to have been paid for by the Senator herself (assuming the spaces are roughly the same size). At any rate, it does seem a little excessive that Clinton's office space would cost more than twice what Schumer's office space costs, but Senator Clinton is not breaking any rules. The GSA sets a limit, and she's living up to that limit. However, it is twisting the facts to say that Sen. Clinton is saving the taxpayers $112,852 (especially since the year over year cost for office space for the second Senator from NY is almost doubling). ------------------ Houston Sports Board Help Finance My Movie - Buy A T-Shirt or Make a Donation [This message has been edited by mrpaige (edited March 22, 2001).]
i dont think my "buddies" really care if they are referenced or not. i would just like to know what the point of making this meaningless thread was? ------------------ http://www.democrats.com mgh 1925-2001
Well, at least we learned that Democrats think the media hates them too. ------------------ "I swallowed a lot of agression...along with a lot of pizzas."
When I read the thread title I thought maybe she was pawning off all the White House goods she swiped. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
LOL!!! That just stuck me as funny. ------------------ "I swallowed a lot of agression...along with a lot of pizzas."
Probably the same point as the countless threads that bash President Bush. I saw something on a link provided by a member of the bbs community, namely you, and it struck me as funny how the democrats were trying to spin the story. Perhaps you should go into all of the Surprise surprise Bush ... threads and ask the same question. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
How about this, look for my name in those threads, and besides one in which i didnt even bash bush i have said nothing. So get off my back dude. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com mgh 1925-2001
