I think Dan did good with what chance he had. Maybe we can sign him for less?

I don't think his D is up to Van Gundy standards.

I've been thinking about this since the draft. If we can unload Wesley, Moochie and Ward, Dickau should definitely be a consideration.

I wouldn't worry about his D not being up to JVG standards. He's not a total slouch.

I think he's a realistic target, considering most of our effort should be for a power forward. We've got plenty of guards already, but they're combo guards.

So we need black and dumb? Just as racist.

More importantly, we need a real PG like Dickau. Another FA to consider is Chris Duhan. Both players may be on the smallish side, but they are true points. However, I can't believe we passed on Roko-Leni for Luther Head. That will come back to haunt us.

I'm not impressed by Dickau. At best he was average on a very bad team. There isn't much upside with him. Maybe as a backup.

Don't sell Dickau short- he's a terrific slouch.

dan dickau and john stockton should never be mentioned in the same paragraph unless your mentioning the fact that they both went to Gonzaga. other than that you have one of the league's greatest players and a........bum. so he played well in New Orleans on team with like 12 wins??? how many times has he been traded in the past 2 years? yeah, a lot of teams liked his potential. i'll pass.

Yes your word association is racist. Are you implying that those two words go together?

Nope, just pointing out how stupid and racist "white and small" sounds.

Would Caucasian and 6 ft 0 be better?

6 ft 0 is germaine. What difference does "Caucasian" make?

Come now. If you are going to stick your tongue out, then enlighten the board with a small sample of your racial sagacity.

I thought so. Neither yaopao nor macfan is capable of a salient repartee in defense of such shameful racist slurs. Indeed, what difference does it make if a player is Caucasion, African, Muslim, Oriental, Inuit, etc.? The question is, "Can a player play at the highest level and why or why not?"

granted "white and small" is taking a swipe a his physical deficiencies while "black and dumb" is basically taking a swipe a something that's worse than physical handicaps but ANYWAYS.....

I think Dickau would be better suited as a backup. Seriously. I used to think he could have been a pretty decent PG but something about him just doesn't make him a starter IMO. And it's NOT because he's white and small.

I completely agree. That's exactly how I saw your comment when reading this thread.

Again, why is "white" a physical deficiency? Did you understand that I said "black and dumb" is equally racist? If you substituted "black" or "brown" or "yellow" for "white," you would be run out of the board and rightfully so.

i'm not even focusing on the white or black part. i'm focusing on the short and dumb part. you can call me orange or polka dot for all i care. but calling a person short isn't the same as calling a person dumb now is it? and quite frankly, i just voiced my opinion. did i try to make a hard stance on which side of the "fence" i'm on? nope.

and if it was brevin knight and someone said "black and short" of course it has the same negativities as "white and short" but i say calling someone dumb is on another level.

now back to the dan dickau thread....
