1. about a trade with Miami involving either Haslem or Simien. What would make sense for them? I think they were interested in Sura at one point. 2. about some sort of deal with New Orleans for Magloire. What kind of packages would they want for him? If they are planning on signing Swift to a big deal, would they trade with us for future picks and an expiring contract? Most of the deals that are discussed never happen. And most of the deals that happen come out of the woodwork and are shockers. We've talked about a S&T deal with Memphis ad nauseum. I'd like for it to happen but all the talk makes me think it probably won't. New Orleans has to be chasing Swift also, hometown boy, etc. etc. etc. And it seems like they are trying to move Magloire to make room for somebody. They wanted a couple picks from Toronto for him and Toronto wouldn't give them up. Would we be interested in getting him and would he fit here if we can't get Swift? Seems like a pretty good defender and rebounder. Can he play the 4?
If we're gonna trade with Miami, I hope it will be for Haslem. JVG could have brotherly assistance from Stan if he really could not fit to the Heat financially..
If we deal with Miami i dont see us getting Haslem or Simien.. If they do want Sura I have a feeling that we would get a guy like Rasual Butler who is a VERY POOR mans Eddie Jones.
haslem is undersized but i like what he brings. good rebounder and defender and a decent scorer. he'd be a very nice starting PF, good role player. i just think that miami doesn't think that they can sign him when his contract is up even though it won't be a lot of $ they have to resign Shaq and then Wade for huge money very soon. draft picks are cheaper.
Does anyone think Portland would take expiring contracts and draft picks in a SnT for SAR and unloading Darius Miles' 5-year, 41 million dollar contract? Does anyone think we could get Cuttino and a 2nd round pick from Sac for David Wesley and Bobby Sura? Does anyone think we can get Nick Van Exel for the LLE?
I think van exel could be a real asset to our team if he signed for the LLE. If we traded with sac how much money would cuttino be able to make with us, cus i think hes gonna go where the $$$ is. And apparently portland doesnt want to get rid of Darius Miles because they had the option to when talking to some other teams and chose to keep him.
Yes Not sure. Less likely since they picked up Francisco Garcia in the draft. Quite possibly, but I don't really want him.
i think a S&T with sac for mobes would work. garcia is only one man, most teams need 2 SG's. wesley fits well in thier system. it's really up to JVG if we hants cat back.
Hopefully, at this point, the only way Cutino comes back will be in a sign and trade. Sac would have to take some guards back if Cutino comes to Houston. Though I hope we would try to sign and trade for AD waaay before Cutino ends up on the rockest roster. Only way we get another guard, whomever it may be, should be through a sign and trade with either wesley, sura, james or some combo the three IMO.
