Interesting Salon article of the possibility of NBA players tattoo-ing themselves with ads.

. . .Rasheed Wallace of the Portland Trail Blazers has tattoos up to and possibly in the wazoo. He has been asked to advertise for a major candy company -- with a tattoo. Wallace and his agent, Bill Strickland, haven't made an announcement yet, but an affirmative answer could challenge the very foundations of our legal structure. . . .

Well, That would be interesting. The Leagues couldn't really do anything about tatooing. At least I don't think so. In baseball it could be effective form of advertising. Not so much in basketball or football. Personally, I don't like it, but for a cool million I'd do it....but it would be craker jack tatoo.

Well, the NBA could try to get a ban or revenue on tattooing in the next CBA.

In college, we had a very big scavenger hunt where one of the items was a 'Scav Hunt '96' tattoo. It was amazing how many people got the tattoo for a passing contest.

Imagine Olympic swimmers with A giant Coca cola tatoo across their backs [IMG]

I would do it like tupac, and have APPLEBEES tatooed across my stomach. I dont know if aplebees would look as bad ass as Thug Life, but who cares [IMG] its a life time endorsement. who can beat that

Maybe the tatoo is for Almond Joys and Mounds - Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

Doesn't the NBA Players association have some discretion / approval authority on player endorsements? It will be interesting to hear their take.
