Damn, Legend, now I want the next season to start tonight. My son was watching it with me, and about 7 minutes in, he said "I'm getting tired of this, cause I already know who's going to make all the baskets and block all the shots." Haha.
Great video. Seeing so many great clips of Yao all at once was sweet. One observation I noticed a while back that was reinforced by this video: Yao could help himself by learning to use his left hand more. No matter which was he was moving or turning, every single dunk was right-handed. Being 7'6 allows him to get away with it most of the time but if he learned to dunk left-handed and used his right hand to protect the ball when moving left, some of his dunk attempts that end up being two foul shots will instead be 3 point play opportunities. I'm not saying this should be a priority for him this summer. But when he becomes more dominant inside and players start fouling him harder to prevent the basket, the wear and tear on his right forearm and elbow could be a problem. Then again, if teams start conceding the basket when he's in point blank range (as they do with Shaq) it may not be an issue. Anybody agree or am I nitpicking?
from apostolic3: I don't think you're nit-picking. But at this stage Yao's still getting criticized for not going for the dunk with both hands. I think your point is valid.
