    [ESPN]Shawn Bradley to retire

Sources: Center to call it quits after 12 seasons
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2092800

Dallas Mavericks center Shawn Bradley has informed the team of his intention to retire and is negotiating a buyout of his contract.

Dallas was the third team that tried and failed to establish the slender Bradley as a franchise player. After two-plus seasons of unmet expectations with the 76ers and two partial seasons with New Jersey, Bradley joined the Mavericks in one of former coach-general manager Don Nelson's first major moves and spent the past 8½ seasons in Dallas.

Bradley's role, though, has gradually diminshed with the Mavs. After preseason knee surgery, Bradley averaged career lows in points per game (2.7) and blocks per game (0.8) in 2004-05 and appeared in just seven of Dallas' 13 playoff games under new coach Avery Johnson, for a total of 27 minutes.

Bradley will retire with career averages of 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, having led the league in blocked shots twice.

Top 2 Shawn Bradley plays ever:
    1. (above)
    2. (inadvertantly giving Barkley a hernia)

    Thanks for the memories!

Damn, no more videos of him being dunked on by Rockets.

I remember when Mo Taylor CRUMPLED Bradley to the ground with the sick tomahawk jam.

Bradley sucks, I'm sure the team didn't want him anymore.

Rockets can sign him and build a blocking machine with Shawn, Yao and Deke at C, PF and SF. With T-Mac at SF. This is the All Star lineup of 2004.

    T-Mac loses his Main Horse

Sean Bradley has announced his retirement today. T-Mac will have to find a new pony for next year.

Too bad. That wasn't just any pet, that was his favorite pet. T-Mac was emotionally attached to his pony. Let's just hope that T-Mac finds himself a new pony that will replace the memory of the old one. I suspect it won't be very hard. He will have many breeds of ponies to choose from. Here's a list of the ponies available for sale: Mihm, Divac, Okur, Boozer, Dampier, Cato, Magloire, Brown, Haywood, Milicic, Gasol. There's the european/yugoslavian breed, the white american breed, the afro-american breed

Thanks. I do hate them, but wish our owner was a little more like theirs. I never look at the dish always checking for trade and draft news.

T-Mac: Hey Shawn, when you woke up this morning I bet you didn't know I was going to jump from high up in the air, hop right on the saddle like a Musketeer and take you for a spin around the farm, did you?

He's been around for 12 years? That shows you how bad the center position is. It sure pays to be tall. No talent and he's been in the league for 12 years.

Anyone thinking he retired to avoid the embarassment of the Mavs waiving him in light of this just announced summer's lux tax rule?

Much as Bradley sucked, he could be fairly effective against Yao sometimes, poking the ball away with those long, spindly arms. Glad to see him go.

EDIT: Besides, the Mavs still have that gangly Russian joke to fulfill their "tall worthless guy" quotient.
