No.1 in FG% -- .655. No one else is even close. The next player is at .575.

No.2 in blocks -- 2.71 to Camby's 3.20. Camby played 5.4 mins more per game.

Seems he is getting used to play dominantly, and figured out how to use his height to block shots. And his teammates finally started to lob him the passes, and we saw Yao actually could catch them.

I see Yao have a breakout year next season and those who wanted to trade him for KG will have a big crow in their mouths. If not, then entertain the thought by all means.

Another factor that people are over looking was Yao's ability to pick up fouls on big men near the basket this sopmething that we really need that KG would not give us. During the series you could notice Yao's improvement on getting good position. He plays against big men really well with the exception maybe of Tim Dunkin and Shaq in not picking up silly fouls. Most of his silly fouls come from smaller players with quickness taking the ball at him and putting the pressure on the ref to make the call. That is why with a shot blocker at the four position and more athleticism Yao will definitely have a break out season and houston will be rreally dangerous. Lets put it this i would rather draft Hakim Warwick or maybe Chris Taft after a mentality evaluation because they address a big and present need. ;)

I think he is tied for last in series wins. I think that matters much more than blocks per game, especially if he only plays 25-30 mins a game.

Garnett was tied for last in series' wins for like 5-6 years. And so has T-Mac for like 4 years. Just because the Rockets didn't win this series, doesn't mean that Yao and T-Mac can't be a dominant tandem in the future.

Perhaps... Although I read it as, "I'm going to put in some snide remark about how Yao didn't do crap in the playoffs." [shrugs]

haha...i just hope yao becomes more dominant. being able to get position easier and not let other people push him around. hope he keeps his fouls down, but this is looking great. keep up the good work yao!

    Andre Iguodala:
    No.1 in steals per game.

    Earl Watson:
    No.1 in assist/turnover

    Mike James:
    No.1 in FT%

    Dahntay Jones:
    No.1 in 3-point%

    Tyson Chandler:
    No.1 in Offensive Rebounds/game

    And the big winner is...

    Marcus Camby:
    No.1 in Defensive Rebounds/game
    No.1 in Blocks

Would you trade Yao for Camby? I wouldn't in a million years. But by your logic he's due for a breakout year.

And about Garnett, I don't believe it's disrespecting Yao to acknowledge that Kevin Garnett is a better player than him. It's just reality. Yao is great, and I love having him in a Rockets uniform, but Garnett is better. Period.

Here are the following players I would trade Yao for:
    - Tim Duncan
    - Kevin Garnett
    - Maybe Shaq (Shaq is clearly better, but also clearly running out of steam)
    - Maybe Allen Iverson or Kobe Bryant, but not on a team with Tracy McGrady

That's it. Because I believe in Yao's potential. If Yao is still the same player he is today in 2 or 3 years, that list will grow considerably.

He needs conditioning, he needs consistancy, and he needs heart. He still has the benefit of the doubt, but someday that will wear thin.

At the end of the day, all that matters is winning.
