another commercial break...gives out the phone number again...still no calls!!! i can't move. i want to get up...go home...i can't.
Okay, I hate to reference this guy because he's dead now, but the only time I've heard a worst talk show host was when Ralph Wiley hosted the Jim Rome show. Does anyone remember that?
My god this guy is horrible. Its been a long time since I've been this annoyed at sports radio. He was trying to make a case earlier that womens golf is bigger than the NBA Finals.
I caught bits and pieces this afternoon. Geez was it bad. But I'd still listen to him than that asshat Jim Rome.
Ok, I'll admit it: I liked the guy. I only caught his first 30 minutes, but I thought he had personality and was much more enjoyable to listen to than Vandy and Rich Lord's fill-in guy. I think I find some info on Stein. I wonder if AB knows him. http://talk-radio.20m.com/david_stein.html DAVID STEIN HOSTS ON THE LINE David Stein hosts On The Line. "He could have been a Doctor," David Stein's mother says about her underachieving son. " But he barely made it past sixth grade." Despite these early disappointments, David Stein is making a name for himself. He is a stand-up comedian who's opened for the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin and Paula Poundstone. If his voice sounds familiar, it's because Stein has appeared in countless commercials and narrated many books on tape. Stein's radio career began on WPAZ in Pottstown, PA where he worked as a morning newscaster, news director and announcer for high school sports teams. From there he moved in 1988 to serve as morning co-host on WRFY in southeastern Pennsylvania. "The Mike and Dave Show" broke regional rating records. The author of "The Top 102 7:20 Lists and Other Morning Show Stuff," Stein won the UPI and Philadelphia Press Association's First Place Radio Feature Awards. He has been an active volunteer on behalf of the march of dimes, Easter Seals and the United Way. Stein Productions has raised over $400,000 for local non-profit groups through comedy fundraisers
I had to change the channel when he was going off about that. It's amazing how some people can get on the radio with that little sports knowledge. That joker is up there with Skip Bailess now as my most hated sports personalities.
That guy is awful. I tuned in for a few minutes on Monday, heard that Charlie was out, realized the fill-in is terrible, and considered how lucky I was that my wife got me an FM Transmitter for my iPod for Father's Day.
I didn't want to start a new 790 thread so here's this info. Anyone listening? KBME (790 AM) will pre-empt ESPN Radio's Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic show today and Tuesday morning to audition two more candidates for its morning show and to give a second listen to Rochester, N.Y., host Brad Davies, who auditioned for the job last month. Scott Ledger, who works for WXTB in Tampa, Fla., and Danny Havel, who most recently was at KUGN and KSCR in Eugene, Ore., will team with Davies from 8 a.m. to noon both days. Davies and Ledger will work from 8 to 10 a.m. and Davies and Havel from 10 a.m. to noon, said Ken Charles, Clear Channel Radio's Houston programming VP. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/3878801.html
