A nearly 40 minute per game KG is more valuable than a 30 minute per game Yao.

Until Yao can stay on the court longer he is a very good part time player.

LOL well some people live on these kind of threads to bash Yao... (ala Will :D )

But... yeah the only thing going for Yao is the contract. By the time Yao makes 10 mil/year, Garnet is making 20mil. It's more arguble is Garnett worth Yao + 10mil or Yao + a 10mil/year player...

I agree--I think Yao is a class act who continues to improve every year. Houston is lucky as hell to have him-- Maybe if he acted more like an ass -people would appreciate him more....

I personally hate threads like these--Where's the loyalty people ?

we've got a thread in which people are slobbing on his knob so hard that half of them won't trade him for kevin garnett, a far superior player. he should be honored, not offended.

I agree with this we do not to be a better shooting team a s much as we need in side presence. Garnett is a better player no question but look at it this way would you rather have Garnett, Mc Grady, Oluwakandi or would you rather have Yao, T-Mac and lets say Chris Anderson which i think is within reason? To me tha later is more likely to win a championship. I think with athleticism at the four position Yao will have a great year because he will not be playing defense for two positions

Yes. Because >60% Rockets fans don't deserve Yao's loyalty.

What Garnett has proved with his fantasy numbers and gigantic
contract? A MVP trophy and only one deep playoff run? I could
care less about MVP if my team only has very limited success
and is in a cap hell.

If Yao begins to average 23 points and 14 rebounds a game, my wildest dreams will have become true.

Until then, this is a trade you pull immediately.

Then you travel back in time and do it again.

Please look back to previous NBA champs. How many champs were without dominant centers? Only Bulls are different because of Jordan. Even so, they also have several outstanding players: Pipen, Rodman and Kukoc. One more thing, Ducan is a center, not a powerforard actually. Do you think Detroit coulc win if Shaq and Kobe did get along last year?

Do you consider the Francis for Mcgrady trade a mistake?

Steve Francis was loyal to the Rockets, like Yao. Tracy Mcgrady hadn't proven much in his career other than scoring titles. Mcgrady makes a boatload of money (17 mil a year compared to Garnett's 20 mil a year).

Yeah, right. Let's trade Yao and cry later. Some of you guys want Yao gone is ridiculous. Frankly, I will not trade either Yao or TMac for all the gold in the world.

Is there some rumor that Rockets is going to do a sign and trade on Yao? I can't find it anywhere.

Can Yao refuse it by opting out his last year?

There is less and less loyal Houston Fan, when you see a thread like
    this again and again.

It is all about the loyalty, regardless about T-Mac or Ming, since someone
is still talking about the validity of drafting Hakeem not Jordan.

It is all about loyalty, not about Ming nor T-Mac, not about scoring nor rebouding, not about contract nor ages.....it is all about LOYALTY.

    No. It is about winning.

Do you think fans of the Fujian Xunxing would like to trade to get Yao on their basketball team? They would trade any player on their roster to get him. Why? Because Yao is a better player than any player on their roster. Maybe their whole roster combined.

Kevin Garnett is just a better player than Yao.

Talk about upside, talk about talent, talk about whatever - nothing changes the fact that KG is far better than Yao until proven otherwise.

Detroit has the best defensive center in the NBA in Ben Wallace. They also have a formula that is very tough to duplicate because it is hard to find so many long and athletic guys that have the skill level of their players. Having said that, Shaq has done pretty well for himself the past 5 years or so, wouldn't you agree. On the other side, Yao's team got screwed out of the playoffs by several horrendous calls. The Rockets record was .500 against the other two teams they needed to beat in order to reach the finals, and one of those teams has the NBA's best PF playing for them.

I just think a combination of Yao and say SAR is better than a combination of KG and whatever center we can get with the MLE (someone like Olowokandi, I suppose).
