Horry clearly has his best days behind him, but this would be a solid signing by the Heat if they could do it. In the East Horry could clearly play decent effective minutes at PF next to Shaq.

Dooling, Doleac and perhpas Horry wouldn't be too bad a FA haul to add around Shaq.

Horry next? A source close to power forward Robert Horry, a free agent, said he could have a deal in place "pretty quick" with the Heat, which wants to solidify its front line.

Horry, 33, played with Shaquille O'Neal in Los Angeles before signing with San Antonio last year. He is known as a solid defender and clutch shooter.

The Heat still has about $2.5 million available from its mid-level exception and the entire smaller cap exception, worth $1.6 million, to sign free agents. If the team is unable to reach a deal with Horry, the Heat still will be in the market for power forward Karl Malone, also a former O'Neal teammate with the Lakers.
