All of them are good, but I pick Nirvana, still one of my favorite bands. Their songs sounds simple and easy to play, but they are still great. Although In Utero's production wasn't too good, the writing was good. In Utero's songs sound better in their Unplugged album.

    I'm laughing, Freak ;)

I have to go with the Mudhoney, Screaming Trees advocates. I also like Tad, but am not a big lover of grunge, or the labeling of. Another Seattle band from that era, but far apart from the grunge label was the Posies. I think I like them best - especialy since they actualy reserected Big Star for a while.

My favorite Washington bands from that era were not from Seattle, but instead the smaller surrounding towns like Olympia (Beat Happening and K records), Bellingham (Mono Men and Estrus records) and Tacoma (Girltrouble - good friends and label mates on Dyonisious and Hell Yeah).

    That's total BS.

The people who started the "STP ripped off Pearl Jam, etc." are just naive, jealous, and ummm r****dED.

Pearl Jam is nowhere near the level of greatness that is the Stone Temple Pilots.

Axl didnt need the grunge bands help for that. :p

he did it all by his lonesome.

btw....Alice in Chains was the only band listed I could stand..

and upon further edit....Its nice to see a spirited music debate with Mr Finn* involved.
