ACTUALLY, that fact that he hasn't worked out for the lower seeds makes our chances all the more likley. I doubt he will go in the lottery, mostlikely somewhere around 19-27. I like him alot and felt that his stock dropped this year. We should get him if Warrick, Graham or Ike arent on the board
I still think someone is going to steal Simien before we do, he has a very polished game and he has had some good workouts. Where is Rudy Fernandez and Splitter? These were suppose to be for sure 1st rounders, I know Splitter was thinking about pulling his name, but I am pretty sure they had Fernandez going to Indy or Denver.
Not only are Fernandez and Splitter missing, but what about the other high schoolers: Ellis, Miles, and Blatche (sp?)? Every other mock I've seen has had them going in the first round.
They didn't post the very top of the article which stated that Splitter and Fernandez are close to pulling their names. I also read in the draft forum that Miles has had terrible workouts and will most pull his name and play for UT. Not sure about Ellis or Blatche, but it also said at the top that 5 new names have entered the 1st round, so it I guess it's just right that 5 names drop out as well.
I don't think so. Fernandez looks a bit fragile for an NBA 2 guard. For all the criticism that Manu gets for flopping, he definitely does take a lot of abuse. He's about as tough as it gets at the swing position.
I agree with you Deuce, a swingman really makes the right sense. I think where we really lost the Dallas series was on the opposing teams dribble penetration, putting Yao in very vulnerable situations. I really like this kid Alan Anderson senior from Michigan State, 6'6 great athlete and is the devil on defense, he probably needs to work on his shot but he was the leading scorer in the Chicago camp and really has a knack for getting to the free throw line.
I went to PC and watched him play I think he will be an instant contributor to a team altough I do not think that he fits the Rockets needs that much, but on talent he should be a first round pick.
Try likely. At the Chicago pre-draft measurement he weighed in at 215. And this is after weeks of trying to pack on pounds. He doesn't have a great handle, or the quickness to guard SFs so we are talking about a classic tweener. He's still got some positives (athleticism, hard worker, improving jumper) so he won't drop too much. But #15 is just about right for him, give or take a couple of slots.
Granted, this is coming from Chad Ford who has about as much credibility as a 10 year old trying to explain astrophysics, but if Taft's stock is plummeting THIS bad to the point where he's in the 20's, it makes sense to consider trading up for him. He's a bonehead but a top 5 talent, certainly worth the risk since trading up a spot or two won't exactly cost ya an arm & a leg.
No, that would be David Lee but without the "?" over his durability. Can the Rockets afford to take the risk with Simien (can he stay healthy?) given their own injury worries with their current roster?
This mock draft is okay. I really don't think the knicks will pick Frye at 8. His official measurement was 6' 9 1/2" without shoes, so his stock is likely to drop. I'm also having a hard time believe that Jack will fall this far. He is likely to be taken before pick #20. If this was the situation, I would pick Jack and get an early 2nd rounder to pick Turiaf.
