The invoice for the base Camry is $17,406. This dealership had a special and priced it about $100 above the invoice price. After a $1,500 rebate from Toyota, the price is $15,995 before TT&L. With my options added along with TT&L, the total is a little above $18k. I think if they do $17,000 without the options, then it would be a great deal. If I tell them I have another offer on the table and walk out of the dealership, do you think that I could go back again? I just don't want to risk the offer since nobody else can even come close.
Yes, you can go back. I did that when I got my truck. I did it to MacHaik ford, which did have a great deal, and was very close to where I live.
Dude, any option that you can get later (e.g. tint, alarm) you should get later. It's WAY cheaper than buying straight from the dealer. I'm sorry that the website was no help. Try this website. Check it out
This isn't a GM dealership. You can't go in there and start making ridiculous demands. They can sell the Camry to someone else at $18K driveout.
Blah.. It's a buyers market, per say. The dealer makes money on the adjustable interest rate. Cars are, by far and away, the most depreciated asset since the 60's! You like to keep money??? Buy a used car!!!
You tried all the other dealerships and they wouldn't match or beat the deal, what does this tell you? Dealerships have to make money, most/all dealerships will not sell the vehicle below invoice unless if its under some special circumstances. I know dealerships still make a little money selling the vehicle at invoice, but its not alot. I'm checking out the vehicle in question, it has $1,250 rebate, not $1,500. Unless if you just graduated, thats an additional $400. $17,946 invoice - $1,250 = $16,696. $16,696 + $800 (options) = $17,496. $17,496 x 1.0625 = $18,589.50. Their selling the vehicle $600 below invoice and you want more. I doubt your going to find a better deal on this Toyota and If this is what you really want. Buy it now before they sell it to someone else and your stuck paying more for a different Camry.
That's strange, when I went with my friend to buy the Galant I got keyless entry, remote trunk opener, a floormat set, and even a free gas fillup/free oil change voucher for free! I guess Toyota are a bunch of thieves, they want you to pay through your nose to get an overrated, underpowered vehicle
Actually, yah! Even if it wasn't as "perfect" as the Camry is (insert sarcasm here, because I had experience with Toyota, and they are easily the most overrated vehicles on earth), it still isn't $2000 worse than the Camry. In fact, the Camry isn't nearly as well-backed as the Galant is (5 yrs/60000 bumper2bumper, 100000 mi powertrain warranty). But hey, it is a matter of preference I guess. I personally don't care what brand it is, as long as it is a good deal and has a good warranty, that's all I can ask for. There really isn't that big a difference among cars in the same class, it comes down to a matter of preference. You know, it's kind of like how I like Coke over Pepsi, I am just being picky
The invoice for the Camry Standard is $17,406. I think you're looking the LE version. Second of all, edmunds.com state's that it's a $1,250 rebate, but Demontrond and Champion's Toyota have a $1,500 rebate if you go to their site. So basically it's $100 above invoice.
True KC, your right, the Camry is in the upper echelon of cars. But what TM1 might be trying to get at is the fact that Toyota's are grossly over priced. Today I went to Fred Haas Toyota on the North side. Directly in the front of the front doors to the showroom sits a 2005 Black Toyota Tacoma midsize crew cab pickup that has 20's, a tonneau, and a chrome bullbar as well as a few other additions.(ventvisors etc) The truck is stunning (I advise you to drop by and look at it) ...but the price is not. $39,000....for a "midsize" truck that usually can be sold for around 20-25,000 range. Why, salesman said it was cause it had a few aftermarket accessories added on it....accesories that would total up to being no more then 3,500 if you bought it on your own. That does not justify why the truck is $39,000. That's just grossly overpriced.
That is only if the car isn't in stock and the dealer has to order it. I went to the dealership today and they had a brand new basic camry for $15,688 except it was sliver instead of the black that my mom wanted. I would have jumped on the deal since it was $1,700 below invoice after the rebate, but I think she only wants it in black. $15,995 is still a very good deal and I'll probably just take it. The final drive out price is $17,213. Thanks everybody for the help!
Oh yeah, I decided that it was better for me to just get the car without any options added on since I can add it later for a few hundred bucks cheaper.
I went to the dealership today and destination charge is already in the $15,995. The salesman says since it is in stock, they won't charge you a destination fee. The final figure is $15,995 x 1.0625 (tax) + 1.0025 (inventory) + 185 (TT&L) = $17, 213. No destination charge.
