Manu's turning out to be a good player, but here's the problem: HE INITIATES THE CONTACT. He goes "plowing" into the lane and takes down anyone in his way. If the offense initiates the contact, no matter who gets the worst of the collision, it should be an offensive foul. He goes in there flailing and out of control and gets bailed out because he makes a gigantic production out of getting hit.

Amen. He is so out of control, it ain't even funny.

The NBA seriously needs to look at giving guys like him, Dirk, and other floppers an automatic ejection for trying to pull that ****. It is like someone else said - they are trying to fool the refs; how is that any different than them showing the refs up and getting whistled for technical fouls?

Ginobli is one of the few Spurs I have respect for... but yes he is a flopper.

And if his flopping 'cause the Heat to lose someway or somehow, I will find out where he lives.

That is if the Heat win tomorrow...

    Man game 7 stress, wtf...

f#$K yeah i'd take two ginobilis and even that little german girl from dallas. that doesn't mean i have to respect every aspect of what they do. for every foul he actually earns there's atleast one that's given to him. he is a very good player regardless but he's also very bashable.

i wish there was a penalty for that crap.

    No kidding.

I'm in shock with how much they'll let Bowen/Ginobili duct tape themselves to Hamilton, but call breathing fouls for Parker (who gets a lot of fouls because he beats the defense, not because throws himself and flails in the air). I'm fine if they call it one way or the other, bur it's like the Pistons are playing the same way but are getting called for it.

And no, Lindsey Hunter can not send Ginobili flying 12 feet across the floor.

Trying to draw fouls by jumping into people 18 feet away from the basket is just ridiculous. Play basketball, not that garbage.

ABC needs a frickin Flop-o-Meter up next to the score. I'm having trouble just keeping track of this shht.

And then to watch this halftime bullshht with Ginobli's granny and pappy asking "how can anyone not love Manu"....."he plays with so much class"...

Oh my frickin head hurts....gimme a f#@kin break

I don't mind Ginobili's flopping, primarily because it really doesn't seem to me like he is getting any extra calls because of it. The game looks like its being called fairly, which in today's NBA really just means there are a lot of correct calls and a lot of blown calls both ways.

wow, what can you say. big ben gets an obvious charge off of manu and they dish out the blocking foul, which turns into a tech and 2, and then manu charges right over someone on the next possession and they don't call anything? this is after wallace got called for a charge with nazr about 2 feet inside the circle and manu got a charge on hunter the exact way wallace did on manu. pathetic. game 1 to the spurs say the refs.

I still don't see it...the Spurs shot one more free throw than the Pistons, who had 2 more fouls...pretty close, and San Antonio was the home team. Manu was called for a questionable charge in the 3rd.

I'm too lazy to do it.. but if anyone wants to make a spoof photoshop of this and put Manu, Parker, and Duncan/Popovich ont his and call it "Legends of the Flop" I'll think you're supercool.

Really from watching the games, it's not the number of fouls they were called but when they are called. NBA is a game of runs, a bad call that extends, stops or start a run has a lot more impact then the rest of the fouls take. Take today's game, it was close game till the fourth, till Spurs get a couple of breaks and next thing you know it's a 11 point game without a lot of time remaining and Detroit can no longer play their style of game (i.e. slowing it down) and have to really start forcing the issues a little that lead to chaos then to a 20 point blow out.

Or game 7 this year with our series against Dallas. We were hanging pretty strong even through mid point of the third quarter, getting it down to 12 several time, but a few questionable calls here and there breaks the run allows Dallas to go back up by 20+ and we just kinda gave up in the 4th (and they ran up the score).

I saw Big Ben do his number of flops today too. The one on Duncan was horrible but of coarse Manu plays his heart out and still no respect

Yea. When Manu hit Big Ben on that one play in the third quarter, I was surprised he fell down. He is so much bigger than that. And a couple of plays later, he stood outside the circle while ginobili drove to the basket instead of going for the block. So strange. Big Ben was looking for the flop.

That said, Ginobili got some calls his way. But that's the way it's played. The aggressive team or player gets more calls. I remember the Laker v. Piston series last year, and I saw a lot of no-calls on the side of the Pistons, while Lakers got called for a lot of fouls. Ginobili isn't dirty or cheap. He just plays with his heart on his sleeve.

I would have agreed with you all playoffs until watching this game. Maybe only because ABC has better camera replays than ESPN and TNT did perhaps. But anyways, on two of his drives in the second half tonight he threw elbows to the defender's face. Once to Hamilton with his left elbow (in which Hamilton was actually called for a foul and then Ginobli got the continuation w/ the ball bouncing in) and the second with his right elbow to Prince.

I'm not really bothered too much about the elbows to be honest. Whether he's dirty or cheap isn't a big deal to me either way. But his f#*king flopping is just terrible. He's like a frickin ebola virus that is going to spread across the league next year when players from coast to coast start trying to get away with this same BS. They're all watching the Finals right now and thinking to themselves "man i gotta get me some of that." Practicing the out-of-control drive into the paint and falling to the floor is going to be every other player's summer workout regimen.
