Just caught ESPN's Finals special. One reporter stated that the Spurs got a visit from Hakeem for encouragement and support for another Texas team, also said he was there to visit Bob Horry

    Hakeem supporting the Spurs!

I was just watching a Finals edition of SportsCenter on ESPN a moment ago, and Shelley Smith said that Hakeem was in San Antonio "support the Spurs as a Texas team", and especially to wish good luck and show support to his friend/former teammate Robert Horry.

I found that interesting, thought I would pass it on...

Who is this Hakeem of which you speak, and what is a "San Antonio"?

What's up with all the Hakeem sightings and his seemingly recent interest in the NBA? Does anyone else think something is up?

I think it's just because he's actually in the country for a change.

Hakeem has a lifetime exemption for pretty much any wrongdoing. He can visit the locker room of the S.S. for all I care. If Hakeem strangled a puppy on live tv I would say that the dog had it coming and shouldn't have given Dream any attitude. Sorry, but the man can do no wrong in my eyes.

Now, if he visits the Mavs locker room, that's another story...

He was there to bring back the Admiral's dignity and visit his MVP trophy they gave to David.

I wouldn't be disturbed by this Hakeem visit to San Antonio.

I don't know, may be he has made a commitment to this "NBA legends" thing that has NBA greats tour around the country and attend NBA games. May be that's why he is in San Antonio.

Either that or he went there to see his friends Horry and Drexler. And said hi to the Spurs players while he was at it of course, it is not like we should expect him to spit at them or remind them of how badly he dominated them back in the mid-90s :D. Anyways, this is a completely different Spurs team, and a professional, classy team/organization at that. So I don't mind. But I still don't think he is there to cheer on any team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hakeem really likes Duncan, he seems to be high on the guy, as I am and probably most real NBA fans are. He is the torch-brearer, IMO, for Hakeem. He is the best big man in the game today and the most fundamentally sound.
