    This is about the only sport where I can root for Texas/Big XII teams with absolutely no qualms. That includes A&M.

    Anyway, Texas just beat Arkansas to move on to the Super Regional. As we speak, Rice has bases loaded in the top of the 8th in Baton Rouge, score tied at 4. Unfortunately, Baylor just went behind 3-2 to Stanford, but they have to lose twice, IIRC.

    I just got home from the Disch. Great game and great atmosphere. If there were any Razorback fans there, no one would have been able to tell.

    It's just a shame that UT's most successful team has to play in a place like that. Why they don't install turfgrass or real grass is beyond me. It was 95 degrees on the scoreboard. I can't imagine what it was on the field.

    With the MLB draft tomorrow, I sure wouldn't mind if the Astros took Taylor Teagarden. He's a good catcher and can hit real well. He'll definitely be drafted tomorrow, along with Seth Johnston who is a very good offensive and defensive shortstop.

    This is a rebuilding year for Rice and to be honest I'm surprised we've made it this far. Rice will really do major damage the next two seasons. Our lineup has 5-6 freshmen starting each game. I wouldn't be shocked to see another national championship in the next couple of years on South Main. Joe Savery is the best freshman in the country and a product of Houston's Lamar high school.

    How great is that!!?? Baylor, Rice and UT in the supers!!! I'm rooting for Baylor, of course...but wish them all well!
