http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/articles/2005/06/05/he_did_everything_but_win/ As for the (Celtics) team captain, one league official said last week, ''Right now, there is no demand for Paul Pierce out there. None." For Rox expiring contracts, or coupled with JHo? Heck yeah, oh yeah.
Why?! You're the only one who wants him here so far in this thread. Tell us what about him intrigues you?
No demand for Pierce? How's about: Rox get: Pierce Lafrentz Celts get: Expiring Contracts 1st round pick The chance to start over.
Doesn't he have a HUGE contract? I didn't find that qoute on the page in the link. I used FireFox search and didn't find any Pierce...... it was talking about the Spurs in the finals.
I don't know about you people but I wouldn't mind Pierce. Who's going to stop T-Mac, Pierce, and Yao?
Personally, I could care less if he sashays up the court for the Rockets as long as gets there quickly and swishes the nets as he has during his career. Don't we still play "We Will Rock You" by Queen at home games?
No way. Any team with Pierce on it is doomed to have no chemistry. The Celtics are stuck with him. I don't see how Doc Rivers coached a team with Pierce, Antione Walker, Ricky Davis & Gary Payton. Those 4 are enough for a whole insane asylum by themselves.
Ricky Davis would be awesome on the Rockets -- and cheaper. Wish we could get Davis and Kendrick Perkins from Boston.
Agree! Pierce is a team cancer. His manner just like a poor farmer who became rich in a day. I really hate the feeling on his face and his manner to his teammate, especially to the rookies and role players.
Well I want PP too (And I've said so on a number of occasions ). With Pierce and T-mac, we would have one of the top two (or three if you think Baylor+West was better) swingman combinations in history. Both have the ability to be shutdown perimeter defenders, and both are extremely dynamic on offense. They are both above average 3pt shooters, PP is a better slasher to the basket while T-mac is a better passer. They would both be incredibly dangerous when running the pick and roll with Yao, and with the "Big Three" together, they might never see a double team again. The offensive reasons are nice and will end up winning a lot of games, but it's the defensive potential that really excites me. If JVG can get PP to buy into to his defensive goals like he was able to do with T-mac, then this team would be just brutal to play against. Two shutdown perimeter defenders and a big prescence/shot blocker behind them is a potential dynasty-caliber defense. Add a PF that can rebound and chew gum at the same time, and it's over. Heck, if Howard is hitting his open jumpers then this team could be dynasty material already. Sign a guy like Chris Anderson and maybe Raja Bell to add depth, and I'd go to war with this lineup: Sura/James PP/Barry/Bell T-mac/Bell/Bowen Howard/Anderson/Lafrentz Yao/Deke/Lafrentz
I like how it seems to be news to a lot of people that Pierce is a cancer. I've been saying that since about late 2001...
Because he's a great talent? Because he needs a TMc-like new start? Because if he were a Rock the cost would be 'cheap'.
