Langdon - Tom Hanks Sophie - Audrey Tautou (first role in a major American film) Teabing - Ian McKellan Aringarosa - Alfred Molina Fache - Jean Reno Silas - Paul Bettany Tom Hanks, Doc Ock, AND Gandalf! This one is definitely first on my list for movies next summer. I'm glad that they picked an authentic French actress to play Sophie instead of some ditzy hollywood blonde that would have had to use a cheesy French accent. The only problem I have is that I always pictured Langdon to be a little less older than Sophie, maybe his early to mid 30's. I'm sure it won't be that big of a problem, though...
Jean Reno has given me a good impression in Ronin... I am greatly looking forward to this film for sure!
I just never pictured Tom Hanks as Langdon, not at all. I was thinking of more a Russell Crowe from The Insider/A Beautiful Mind.
I was thinking Tom Hanks was a little old as well. Nick Cage was in my head I was reading the book, but National Treasure blew that to hell.
Oh lord no, Nick Cage is a douche and I hate most of his movies because of that dumb ass look on his face. National Treasure was barely tolerable.
Shouldnt be Forrest Gump, Doc Ock, and Gandalf? Ive got to read this thing, everybody has been telling me good things about it.
