    I don't think I agree with this?
I mean you can hide a gun and lock
it. .. if the kids still gets it
[which most 15 yr can ] Then you
    going to jail?

What next blame the Parent of the
    Kids that teased him?

If the parent has taken reasonable precautions to keep the firearms out of the hands of the kids, then no, I don't think they should be charged. Such prosections should be saved for parents who didn't take precautions to keep the guns out of the hands of their kids (And for me, it'd have to be gross negligence before I'd charge the parents).

If the kid is being tried as an adult, how can the parents be charged with anything?

If it's your gun... sure, why not. If your kid takes the keys to the car and raises hell you end up paying for it. If your kid destroys someone else's property you end up paying for it.

May as well punish the parents on something a bit more important.

So do you charge parents when the Kid
    is caught
    DRUNK DRIVING?
    Vehicular Homicides?

Hell if your 5 yr stabs his friend with a pencil
    YOU GAVE HIM THE PENCIL
    [ok this is getting ridiculous]

Paying for property is one thing
    Jail time is another.

I guess we should cut out the middle man
    and simply OUTLAW BAD PARENTING

Its not blaming the parent for the child's actions. Its holding them responsible for their own fault in failure to properly supervise and educate their own kid. Seems pretty fair to me.

In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

Ok, how about this. The kid breaks into your house and steals your gun(or any weapon). Since you did not keep the gun put up or hidden, should you be held responsible?

Did he not steal the gun from his parents?

    Space Ghost,

On one hand you want the right to bare arms, but now you don't want the responsibility that comes with it?

    Unbelievable !!
