Pokie mum found guilty of child manslaughter A Ferntree Gully woman has been found guilty of killing her toddler son, by leaving him in a hot car while she played poker machines. The Supreme Court jury of six men and six women took just two hours to find 40-year-old Jie Hua Yu guilty of the manslaughter of her 19 month old son Brian in February last year. The toddler died of heat stroke six days after he was left alone in the car for about two and a half hours. During Mrs. Yu's trial the prosecution alleged she had left Brian outside a gaming venue, the Ferntree Gully Hotel, and that the temperature inside the car had reached around 50 degrees. Smegg I have a lot of asian friends here in Sydney and it's an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE how the government TARGETS them for gambling. One of my best friends mum is trying to give up, but Sydney Casino keep sending her "free" luch coupons, free harbour cruise vouchers etc etc every week...just to feed her addiction. Chinese people have got gambling in their culture...they believe in luck and fortune...and a lot of them have gambling problems. The govt knows this and does everyhting to exploit it...but jack all to help fix the problem... Then, when something like this happen...where a woman who is odviously addcited, goes to these extrems...the silence is deafening. ------------------
