We should get Telfair from Portland

Here's my suggestion, some mock drafts have us drafting a PG. Instead of drafting one, we should get Telfair from Portland.

Portland has #3 pick, if they stay there they'll draft PG Paul, so PG Telfair will be available. We could use him as a backup PG. He won't make the ROX go from first round loss in 04-05 to a championship team in 05-06, but he should help out in the future.

I don't see Telfair being available. I think the Blazers are very high on Telfair and will trade their pick rather than use it on a PG to play in front of Telfair.

It makes the most sense for Portland unless they want to trade down. Expect to see Gerald Green a Jailblazer next year.

What a genius this Oakland guy is. He pondered and went into deep analysis for two years to explain to us that Portland will give us their franchise player so we can use him as a backup.

I actually think it's possible. Also, the Rockets will trade T-Mac just because some other team needs him.

Come on guys, come up with thoughtful and realistic ideas. We all are Rocket fans so the hyperenthusiasm is understandable. However, when you start dreaming make the dreams half believable.

If the Blazers wanted the best player available at #3 they will go with PG Paul. I think you're right, they'll probly trade down then, since they already have Telfair.

From everything I've heard, Portland loves Telfair. They basically threw away their season to give him minutes. They weren't going anywhere any way, but it was more important for them to get him PT than it was to win games. He will be a good pg and no way Portland lets him go after just one season.

Aside from the fact that Portland is apparently very high on Telfair, JVG doesn't like playing young, inexperienced players. So, not only would Portland have no interest in trading Telfair, JVG would probably have no interest in recieving him.

I am just curious... why do people insist on sitting and critiquing someone elses post? some of the people on this board really need to sit back and do some self examinig. Cmon do you really have nothing better to do than sit around and decide for yourself whether or not another person has the right to post on a topic or not. GODS?

No, more like low life ARS holes!

I am sorry but I thought this was a site for rocket fans not for wanna be freakin Stephen ARS Smiths!!!

Grow up (for once I will use) TROLLS!!!

By the way, teams do crazy things with players all the damn time. Jabbar, Chamberlin, Oneal, OLAJUWON... I seem to recall a certain "top 5" player being shipped to a WC team last year for...

I guess you ARS holes already know the rest... don't you?

Ha, flawed logic. Portland wants Telfair and Telfair is on his rookie contract for 3 more years + at least 1 more year. T-Mac was going to opt out this summer. Not even close.

This belongs in the "Idiotic trade thread" but he didn't say who we were going to give up.

While we are out getting Telfair we should get Lebron as well.

I can't understand the fascination with Telfair. Talented, sure. But still lacking a jump shot and the ability to finish inthe paint, and even if he was a good defender, he is too small to ever be that good of a defender. Which really just makes him a lightning quick undersized PG who does have a pass first approach.

I think he could develop, but he'll never be more than a Damon Stoudemire type guy, imo.

I used to think like this too. Then I realized that with a board this big, we're very lucky that we can police ourselves. Otherwise, we would be run over with uninformed, casual posts.

The criticism that goes on keeps the board on topic, and forces the posters to follow threads and keep the discussions going at a disciplined, informed pace. There is a learning curve for the newbies, but the benefit is a community where true discourse can occur. Besides, the flaming on here is fairly mild compared to many parts of the web.

    Thank you

"Believe" is trying to clear up the forum from people objecting to others' opinions. Yet he did something far worse. He personally attacked others by calling them names.

All I said was that if you are going to propose a trade, make an attempt to explain how it can be accomplished. Don't just throw names out there without mentioning who we would have to give up.

From the games I've seen, he doesn't pass at all. He'll almost always penetrate to the hoop and try to get a layup...although he's not the best at finishing at the basket. In fact, whenever I saw him in games, it seemed he was playing more of an AI or Steve Francis role. I think at best he'll be a Stephon Marbury type player: maybe good stats but his teams will suck.

Our pg position if fine. We don't need to make any changes or additions there with Bob, Mike, and Greece coming on board. Our efforts should be towards a backup three and four.
