No real news, but I thought I would let you guys know that Yao has been working out at the TC everyday for the past two weeks, and I can tell you he looks good, and is working his butt off. Mainly lost post moves from what I've seen.

I think he meant "mainly low post moves" and combined low and post. I do that kind of thing all the damn time.

    Stoude-who?

I'm glad to see Yao motivated. I thought he was pumping twinkies and playing UT or something. You know - getting some much deserved rest.

I don't really consider Yao's low post moves to be a problem. It's getting the ball to him in the first place so he can perform his low post moves that's the problem. Once he gets the ball, his low post moves are fine.

They should just take the ball away from Yao this summer and have him work on establishing position the whole summer.

I'd also like to see him work on a face up game. Improve his jumper to the point where he can pop 15 footers on guys all day long, and then start incorporating a pump fake, drive for a leaner or pullup. With smaller guys fronting and zone defenses, Yao's not going to always be able to get the ball with the defender on his back. He needs to learn to score when he gets the ball at the high post or the elbow.

I don't think that's all Yao is working on. I'm sure he's working on every facet of his game.

Yeah, no telling how many ding dongs he's ate and how many joints he's smoked since his last game.

You know, some of the lost arts like the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Sky Hook, the George Gervin Finger Roll, the Adrian Dantley spinning drive to the basket, the Hakeem Olajuwon Dream Shake, the Calvin Murphy mid-range jumper, the Dominique Wilkins windmill jam, etc. I can't wait to see these lost post moves in action :)

Yao hires former Rockets strength coach

Houston Rockets star Yao Ming, looking to become a stronger player, has hired the team's former strength and conditioning coach as his personal trainer.

Anthony Falsone resigned from the Rockets last month.

"He's worked with me for a long time," Yao told Houston television station KRIV tonight. "If you go see the posters they show the fans outside, the difference between the first year and right now shows the good work he did."

Falsone, who will travel with Yao to China, said he hopes to help take the player to another level.

"In strength and conditioning, the thing that makes you successful is the consistency over long periods of time," Falsone said. "With Yao, now my situation is going to be when he's in China, I'm there. When he's here, I'm here. That's availability to him 100 percent of the time."

Yao average 18.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game during the regular season. The Rockets lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs.

They should hire some NFL DTs to push Yao around
