OK, fess up....who like me just dropped major bucks on the presale for Rolling Stones tickets on December 1st at Toyota Center? Yours truly will be lower prom, section 117, row 24. I must now complete the papers for the second mortgage on my house! Anyone else going?
One of my favorite bands, but this guy doesn't drop more than $12 for a show. Even $10 is pushing it.
I'm a big Stones fan, but also so old I no longer care about live performance. I don't need to see the nurse wheel Mick up to the mike. Start me Up! I actually prefer recorded music these days. I'm sure there's something special about live performance, but I forgot what it is.
I paid $150 to see them on their last tour, and it was worth every penny. Not many bands even compare, if you ask me.
Saw them a few years back at the MGM in Las Vegas, sat behind George Hamilton. Jamarookwyai (Sp?) opened for them. It was awesome. DD
Jokes about them being old were played out about 15 years ago. The fact is theey may look like walking death, but they still have it and are in better shape than you.
i didnt get an email from TC folks. I want to drop some money to take somebody. I don't like Rolling Stones, but whatever to get in some panties.
In a live setting, they still beat the crap out of 90% of everything out there. I did not go to the show at Reliant in 2003 because I didn't want to drop large dollars to see them in a football stadium. I've never seen them in anything smaller than the Astrodome so that's why I am going.
During that tour they were also playing small club shows in some cities. I was really bummed Houston wasn't one of those select cities. Can you imagine seeing them in a venue like the Engine Room or #'s? Also, Does ZZ Top still do those secret shows at Fitzgerald's? I would kill to see one of those. I'm not much aof a Top fan (though I love the Movin' Sidelwaks singles), but the atmosphere has to be electric at something like that.
I've seen them 6 or 7 times over the years and will be there again this year.Until recently they were a distant #2 on my all time list(Beatles being 1),but now...That combo of longevity, being a great live band, and quality, original music has brought the Stones just short of the Beatles IMO.
I hear ya. A friend saw them in LA at the Wiltern. It seats 900. I haven't heard of ZZ doing one of those secret shows for quite a while, but the good thing is that Billy G. always has something fun up his sleeve. It wouldn't surprise me if they did more stuff like that, especially since they are about to go on the road for summer and fall.
I just went to houstontoyotacenter.com and couldn't get tickets. How and where do I get to the presale information? I appreciate it!
