http://movieadvance.com/index.htm http://www.engadget.com/entry/2598485627337141/ I'd call it a way to make your GBA like a PSP. The only reason I want a PSP is to play MP3s, watch movies, etc... This takes the cake though, it'll let you do all of those things AND play NES roms (although, has to be less than 200KB ). Anyways, they sell on Ebay for about $25-$30 shipped, and CF cards are cheap these days. Wonder if any of yall have tried this yet, I have a few on watch on Ebay right now and looking to snatch me one
That's what I thought. I might get a GBA SP now instead of a PSP. That is...if the software/hardware really works.
looks legit, if u check out the second link i posted above, there have been alot of compliments for it they even got a seperate site for tech support and explains all of the conversions http://www.gbafilm.com/homepage.asp
Yeah, I looked around on that site. I'd like to hear a first hand experience from somewhere other than the makers site. You getting this thing?
planning on it, have a few on watch on Ebay. saw some completed auctions where most bidders got them for $17-20 plus shipping ($8). One just ended where it came out to be $20 before shipping. The seller has like 3-4 of them a day on auction, so, my budget is $17 before shipping
Well, if ya get one make sure you post a review about it. I'm curious, but I don't wanna go and buy a GBA and this and find out this thing doesn't work.
Does it work on a DS? My kid has one, and would probably like the options this gives. (although it may do it already... damned if I know!)
Are people that use Gizmondo more prone to getting lost, or do you track them for "statistical purposes"
Great find, Dave. I'm currently in the process of getting one of these little devices off Ebay. I'll post a review after I've had a chance to play around with it.
I hadn't heard of this, but it does sound nice. The only downside I could think of would be the quality of the movies/music since I believe those movie carts that came out a while back were pretty bad, but it sounds like the movie/music playback is decent (movies more so than music). Going by some of the online reviews, the quality is nice considering what you're paying for and it is a nice alternative to getting a PSP, Gizmondo, or other media device, especially if you already have a GBA/DS. One issue that I read about is the whole conversion process, which may not be that user-friendly, plus some formats may not be easily converted, if they can convert at all. Of course, the same could be said of the PSP and probably other devices, although to a lesser extent. I'll probably reserve my final judgment on the device until you guys give your impressions, but it sounds like a great device at a great price. I'd like to see what these people could get out of the PSP/DS if they could get that out of the GBA. It sounds like they're already getting pretty far with the PSP emulation stuff.
sweet http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8195555001 got one for $17.50 + shipping... should get it by the end of the week or beginning of next week now, to go hunt for a compact flash card....
I watch movies on my Nokia 3660 cellphone, it works great. I have 8 episodes of South Park on the 512mb MMC card I bought with it.
