Yes, Virginia, and this year, Detroit fans are getting a AA battery and an empty beer cup in their stocking.

I feel similarly. It may not be a good reason, but I don't like Amare because the better he does, the worse Yao looks to us and everybody. I therefore don't want to see the Suns advance. I'm not really a fan of Shaq either, so if it comes down to it, I'd rather see Detroit advance. I'm not a fan of the Spurs, but I don't really have much against them either.

I think Detroit/SA would give us the best NBA Finals. All of you suggesting that it would be a snooze fest then you are just echoing what the media thought about the Rockets/Knicks finals. The reality is it went 7 games and was very compelling in terms of it being a solid close series. I see the same trend for a Detroit/SA series. Two great defensive teams that play smart BB. I think it would go 7 games. Miami and Phoenix are more "glitzy" but they have flaws that SA/Detroit dont have. The Media would LOVE the "sizzle" of a Phoenix/Miami series because the low hanging fruit in terms of storylines there. But there is plent of bite to a SA/Detroit series. The media just has to dig a little deeper.

All kidding aside I am looking forward to a Piston Spurs Finals. I picked that final when the playoffs started.

I think it will be a great series that will be a hard nose defensive struggle. Not something offensive minded people will want to see but I think it will be great. Pistons in 7

I was listening to the Dan Patrick show on the radio and he said that people don't want to see the Spurs vs Detroit.
If that happens, then he hopes Eva Longoria shows up to cheer for Parker so they can show close ups of her.

At least we dont have to see that big headed kidd.

Yeah, but the soap opera in LA was great because we really wanted to see that team implode. We want to see Phil Jackson lose, we want to see Shaq poed at Kobe when he's taking crap shots.

I hate the Spurs! I hate San Antonio's crappy highway system. I hate how Spurs fans think that Hakeem travels.

Even if Robert Horry is on that team. I hate them.

I hate Greg PopAZitt. The Rockets were suppose to sign Brent Barry. Why can't Isiah trade us Nazr Mohammed? We got VIN BAKER instead!

Happy about Horry losing in the Finals? That's sacrilege- the guy is a major contributor on both of Houston's only championship teams. As far as I'm concerned, if Houston doesn't win it, then I hope Minnesota or San Antonio does- gotta support the last of our championship team before there's no one left. I know, weird logic, but so be it.

I've never understood this 'root for a Texas team at least' stuff.

If it isn't the Rockets, I sure as hell don't want one of their closest rivals/competitors getting more championships than us.

Particularly because this is Texas - where the town next door becomes your most heated rival on the high school football field - makes it all the more strange to me.

Hearing the guy across the country say 'well, we got more rings than you' doesn't sting near as bad as hearing it from the guy next to you.

Exactly how I feel. The Spurs overtaking the Rockets for the most titles in Texas would be hard to accept.

I despise the Spurs. I've always hated the Spurs more than any other team except maybe the recent Lakers. I even hate the actual city of San Antonio with a passion. But I want them to beat the Suns. They're fraudulent. Their success and adulation was borne entirely of scam. A real playoff team is, would've, and will always beat the crap out of these pansies. Steve Nash is no MVP, Bryan Colangelo is no exec of the year (he did all this work last year), and Mike D'Antoni couldn't hold Rick Carlisle's used condom.

But let's not forget that the Spurs have only won the real Finals once. And that was against the crappiest team to ever make the championship round. Go Eastern Conference!!!

I like the Spurs MUCH better than Dallas (I cheered for the Suns). The Spurs are smart, they play hard, they play well. I think they are a classy organization. They draft, trade, and develop players better than our Rockets do. I remember when I was attacked for saying Parker was a better PG than "you know who." Any arguments now? I didn't think so.

I know how you feel. My high school has had one of the best football programs in the state of georgia, but we have yet to win a state championships. However our cross-town rivals have won numerous state titles and even a couple national titles. I graduated last spring, but still care about my school. Last year our cross-town rival made it to the State Championship game and my friends were rooting for them to win. They were saying at least our city will win, but I didn't agree. I just wondered how they could ever root for our biggest rival, especially when they have had so much and we choke every year.

Many times. Like any major city, it has beautiful parts and ugly parts. I think that the River Walk is charming. I have not been to their basketball stadium though, maybe that is what you are refering to. The SBC Center?

Those are harsh words coming from someone who (presumably) lives in Houston. If not, ignore.
