This is just speculation….. though who thinks that Lebron COULD be on steroids??....sorry did'nt know how to make a poll:(....the guy looks and plays like hes been in the league for years….a buddy of mine when he first saw this kid was shocked to know he’s 19/20…...the first thing he said was "this guys gotta be on roids".....so i just want to know if anyone else agrees.... The guys body is just not supposed to be on a 19 year old…facially he does'nt look 19 either.......is it me just being jealous??:D

NBA has a very strict drug testing program, it's nearly impossible to use substance and get away with it.

I read a post on another board from a guy that had done steroids, that he was convinced that Dwight Howard must have done steroids during the summer before his rookie year. According to him, DH came into the draft as a relatively slim kid, and went into the season looking like Karl Malone. Now I don't remember what he looked like when he was drafted, but DH did look unusually stacked this year for a 18-19 year old.

Howard looked the same to me

I really didn't notice a difference between Draft and the start of the season

of course during the summer you try to bulk up and go threw intese workouts..much different than highschool

still looks about the same though

Even if they were on steroids, do you think the league would EVER suspend, or even publicize, news about their young stars (the future of the league basically) being on steroids?

Dwight Howard DID look unusually big this season when compared to how he looked in his senior year in HS.

Lebron has always looked this big pretty much, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't taken performance enhancing drugs of some sort while he was in HS, the kid had agents and pro athletes advising him at the age of 14, so basically he has connections.

Still, I am uncomfortable with accusing someone of doing something if there is no indication of their guilt.

It wouldn't surprise me if the players listed in this thread had done roids before their nba career, but I certainly wouldn't assume that they did.

Lebron played football. He's huge and athletic. I think it's natural.

LeBron didn't really show a pattern though like Howard or any of the baseball guys- he was a big strong dude by the age of 16.

You'd steroids would be especially dangerous for Basketball stars where being quick and lanky usually is more important then pure strength...at least for guards and etc. Besides, doesn't steroids make you more prone to injuries?

Having too much muscle for your joints to hold, or being muscle-bound and inflexible can make you more prone to injuries... Steroids can cause both of those to happen, but they don't necessarily cause injuries directly.

In fact, because steroids help an athlete to generate muscle tissue faster (that's probably an incorrect wording, but you get what I mean), steroids can actually help a player bounce back from injuries more quickly.

Oh, and maybe LeBron doesn't look 19 because he turned 20 a few months ago? Just a thought... :D

wasn’t the U.S government just on Stern's a$$ for having a lenient policy???....someone in congress even claimed that Ron Artest reaction may have been influenced from steroids…. The NBA is not known to have a strict steroid policy….well atleast not to the government:D .....

lebron is definitely a natural athlete. If you see he's pics from when he played in high school, he always had that body type. That's why he's suppose to be the 'next' Jordan.

Plus, doesn't steroids make you slower, or at least heavier? I don't think lebron wants to lose any more speed.

I doubt it, or else you wouldn't hear about sprinters taking the stuff.

Something the congressman forgot to mention was that the once a year testing was only for veteren players and rookies are tested 3-4 times a year. IMO i think its a good testing policy and veterens should have the right to be not tested multiple times a year.

I don't think he's using anything. Generally speaking, you can often tell by looking at a person's frame or forearms.

His musculature looks proportional to his frame, as opposed to someone like Giambi, who looked as if someone had inflated him with a bicycle pump.

Generally, people with larger frames don't feel the need to use steroids because they have a better framework for building muscle and distributing it correctly throughout their body.

Ever seen people with their arms not hanging perpendicular to the ground, because they have too much muscle in the upper body and too small of an overall frame?

If there's a sport where steroids would NOT be helpful, it's basketball. Quickness and flexibility is a lot more valuable to basketball players than strength. Plus, if you gain a lot of muscle mass in your arms, it can really mess up your jumper

Yeah, we all know how steroids slowed Ben Johnson down, right? :) That dude was the fastest man on the planet in the body of a linebacker.

As for muscles hindering your basketball performance. Look at pictures of Karl Malone in college vs. Karl Malone in his prime in the NBA. Didn't seem to slow him down or mess up his jumper much. His jumper was better as time went on, of course.

Strength isn't the only benefit that steroids give - stamina can be another.

i never actually thought about this. i don’t think wizardball is denying his skills. lebron is a power player. that is a fact. roids could definitely make a star player that much better.

Plus its not like there are no high school players on roids. an agent could easily help a player with obtaining "balco" type stuff. i wouldn’t be surprised really. someone should make a poll about this. would be interesting.

People who think Lebron is on roids are hating. Lebron is just a freak of nature. Hes going to be the best in the nba in 1-2 years. Hes just that good.
