http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bask...x?year=2004-05&team=9&order=ContractThru+desc Check out this link from USA Today. You can search by team, players last name for the last 4 seasons. I chose the Rockets, year 2004-05. I didn't realize Wesley was also coming into the last year of his contract like Spoon. I think he is our most valuable trade asset and will not be with us in training camp. If we get something of value for Spoon during the summer, great. I still think we are stuck with him (and Baker) until the trade deadline.
Gatorfan76, you don't remember when Moochie and the Rox had a long impasse in negotiations before the team eventually gave in? During the impasse, I remember SF publicly supporting Moochie getting all he could and how he wanted him on the team. (Sometimes I wonder if he influenced management to get it done. Either way, it all falls on Rudy & Les). After the signing, callers into the talk shows ripped the Rox up and down for being so stupid! I don't remember one person who supported them.
I dont believe Allan Huston is making $17,531,250 and he is earning more mnoey than other better players like: Garnett, Duncan, Yao, Mcgrady, Iverson, etc.
phoenix = efficiency. ~$35.2 mil total payroll (rockets = ~$57.7 mil) and in the conference finals. but then again, they have about 5 or 6 real players to pay. but still....whatever works.
I remember that but I guess I didn't realize it was for that much and that long of a contract... I'm so glad their contracts are almost done
They have quality players still on a rookie wage scale. Wait until Joe Johnson and Amare get their bank and comback to us with those numbers!
Damn, Latrell Sprewell is getting more than T-Mac, and he still b!tching about can't feed his family?
And I don't know how they can list Nash as having a salary of $5,750,000. 6 years at $66 million doesn't add up to a starting salary under $6 mill. At least not in the NBA, where the raises max out at 12.5%. I think Hoopshype's number of $8,750,000 for Nash this year as much more realistic.
And what is our biggest personnel issue? Yao Ming is the ONLY Houston Rocket who is playing under a rookie contract. Rookie contracts are the only cost-effective way to get athleticism and depth. The good news is we don't have any real long-term albatross contracts. Thank you, Isiah Thomas!
the Spurs GM has to be the best GM in the NBA. Practically everyone on that team is underpaid. Parker could have made double his salary anywhere else and the same probably goes for Manu Ginobili as well. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/salaries/teamdetail.aspx?team=25&year=2004-05
