In my efforts to get in shape for summer I noticed something spending all that extra time looking in the mirror.

I've come to realization that my teeth look bad. THEY ARE YELLOW!!! So, I was wondering if any of you guys had experience with Teeth Whitening systems that you can buy from the drug store, or should I just go to someplace like "Bright Smile" and get it taken care of in one hour???

    Thanks!

Had the brightsmile and it's better (FASTER) than the whitestrips, it's the samething with both... after about 4-6 months you need to use them again.. I use the whitestrips every now and then, but if yours are really bad you may want to do the brightsmile first and keep them white with the whitestrips... any way you go it's not a one time thing...

There is a new one on TV that claims to be better than brightsmile, uses photo light, tray, and takes only 10 minutes. looks easy. No sensitivity or continued use. Not sure if it works. Would like to know. But seemed like something to try.

I used Bright Smile and that works to some degree. Don't expect to be perfectly white. It don't work that way.

I can't remember, but I think it's at least $500 to $1000 a few years ago. The Dentist has to do it so you may have to pay for x-rays and visitation too.

Ouch, that seems kind of expensive. I wonder if over that time span if the prices would increase or decrease.

I had mine done 2 years ago and it was $800.00.. If I had to do it again I would have bought a few kits of the strips and gone with that.. but the trade off of walking out with white teeth is nice and not having to mess with strips for a month at a time...

I've really got to get my front two teeth fixed. When I was 19, I had them both broken on a waterslide and they both have veneers (sp?) on them. One is almost entirely a fake tooth. But, those are/were only supposed to last 10 years. Needless to say, I'm well past that.

They've yellowed and there isn't anything I can do about it but replace them. I'm just not sure I want to pay for it given it is a cosmetic procedure. Anyone have any good dentist recommendations?

I use Crest Whitestrips and they really work well and cost about 27 bucks if you get a discount via coupon

My dentist offers Zoom! for like $300 bucks. I'm seriously considering it. You can either do it at the dentist office for an hour, or take it home and do it over the weekend.

You should try out ...http://prowhiteteeth.com/ .

I got one of these and they work pretty good...giving you 4 or 5 shades whiter teeth. They use the same procedure done at the dentist office but they give you a more affordable package that you can do at home. Basically they give you a kit that consist of a whitening gel(same as the one dentist used) that comes in a syringe tube and a clay like material to get the impression of your teeth that you send back to their labortory. In a week you will recieve the mouth piece that perfectly fits onto the groove of your teeth. This is how you use it... You need to inject the gel into each tooth grove on the mouth tray and wear them for 30 min a day. Depending on the discoloration of your teeth, you can began to notice how much whiter your teeth had gotten after a week of use. Problems I came up with are minor teeth sensitivity that goes away after 1 week after you used the kit. Depending on what package you buy the price ranges from $49.00 to $100.00. The more gel you get the more expensive it is. Overall I highly recommend this product. You could do a search and most people really like this product over all other home procedures.

That kit may be confiscated as much as a urinator. But it probably does work.

I got a filling in one of my front two teeth when I was in fourth grade. Half the tooth (or maybe a little more) is filling. Now, I'm in 12th grade, so it's getting close to ten years. The doctor said they would last ten years. For a while now, though, the very top of the filling has been brownish-yellow colored. I hate it. It makes me lose a lot of self-confidence. Especially when smiling.

Is that what a veneer(sp?) us?

pearl drops toothpaste works quite well. isn't slighty yellow teeth meant to be a good, as it's a protective layer or something?..

I've had nothing but good experiences with my dentist over the last few years. They're a little more expensive than some of the others, but IMO well worth it. They've got a reasonably well-designed and informative website (once you get past the excruciatingly slow Flash main page)...

I went to brite Smile in the Galleria last year and my GF and I got it done for $1000 for both. About an hour after I was done my teeth really hurt and continued for about 15 hours. I didnt realize you couldnt eat or drink anything with color for 24 hours afterwards and of course I hadnt eaten anything all day so that sucked but that was my own fault ;)

To help solve the pain I had a few T&T`s and that really helped

I forgot the brand I used, but it was from my dentist. They make a mold of your teeth and make mouth pieces from it. You then take the product and put it in the trays, and in your mouth. Keep them there for about an hour. do that for I think a couple weeks, and you are set. touch ups afterwards.

it works great and runs about 300 for everything.
