Roll call, who's going tomorrow? I'll be at the Verizon Tuesday night and then driving up to Austin on Wednesday with Svpernaut for the show at Stubb's. I am so freaking pumped for these shows. It's been 5 years since I last saw NIN, waaaaaay too long.
Section 102 representin'! W00T! I've been waiting a LOOOOOONG time for this. This show better be the ****.
I just got home, what an amazing show! Highlights of the night for me were Burn, The Big Comedown, Suck, and of course Hurt. The band sounded great together and Trent's vocals were the best I've ever heard him live. My whole body aches and I'm pretty dehydrated but it was so worth it. Off to Austin tomorrow for round 2.
No encore? Bummer. I actually was hoping he'd play more of his new stuff. Aside from a couple tracks, I noticed little from The Fragile, too. I like that (double) album. And why doesn't Trent ever include The Perfect Drug in his setlist?
All the shows this tour have been ending with Head Like a Hole and no encore. Just be happy with the 18 or so songs that you got! And The Perfect Drug has never been played live......I just think it would be damn near impossible and wouldn't translate very well to a live performance.
Such a defeatist attitude. I thought Reptile was stunning tonight. I like his old standbys, but I like it even more when he plays stuff he hasn't played live in awhile (or ever). The Perfect Drug might be hard to pull off in his radio edit format (and probably in any format... it's a very, um, detailed song I suppose), but some attempt would be worthwhile imo. I don't recall him playing Into the Void, either, another track I like.
awesome show! I got Trent's setlist and a pick from J.White! I've been reading some NIN boards today about the show and thought it was funny that some people were waiting outside the venue all day to be sure they got up front and I rolled in at 7:45 and had no problem getting right to the front! I'm paying for it today though, i am sore head to feet

Harrisment and I went to both the Houston and Austin shows... and all I can say is... WOW. I was in the pit both nights, front and center... I was wearing the "Invade Canada" shirt, so you may have seen me at the Houston show. In Austin Harrisment and I sat at the Stubb's BBQ bar and drank in the AC and listened to the sound check while 3,000 jackasses waited in the heat for 3+ hours, lol. Trent tossed the mic to me during the end of Closer in Austin too, was pretty sweet... Harrisment asked me at the end of the show "was that you singing during closer..." lol. Can't WAIT for the fall tour and the VooDoo Festival in New Orleans!
Here it is. I liked the Houston setlist more (can't beat The Big Comedown live) , but the venue in Austin was really awesome. A really unique experience. One really cool thing is we were hanging out in the Stubbs restaurant before the show, and we could sit there drinking and eating bbq and listen to the entire soundcheck from about 30 feet away. http://nin.com/current/index.html Nine Inch Nails Drop Out Of MTV Movie Awards Over Bush Dispute 05.27.2005 4:51 PM EDT http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1503082/20050527/nine_inch_nails.jhtml?headlines=true The announcement was made Thursday via a statement posted by Nails frontman Trent Reznor on NIN.com. "Nine Inch Nails will not be performing at the MTV Movie Awards as previously announced. We were set to perform 'The Hand That Feeds' with an unmolested, straightforward image of George W. Bush as the backdrop," Reznor wrote. "Apparently, the image of our president is as offensive to MTV as it is to me. See you on tour this fall when we return to play in America." MTV announced that the Foo Fighters would be taking NIN's spot on the show late Friday afternoon (May 27). Earlier in the day, in a brief statement, the channel expressed disappointment in Nine Inch Nails' decision to drop out of the broadcast. "While we respect Nine Inch Nails' point of view, we were uncomfortable with their performance being built around a partisan political statement. When we discussed our discomfort with the band, their choice was to unfortunately pull out of the Movie Awards.
I find it refreshing that most of the doper heroin degenerates hate our president. Even if I like their music I would not trust their morality to the presidency.
