Fun, Fun, Fun! Nothing like experiencing a 6.8-er to brighten your mood. That is the biggest quake I've ever experienced, and amazingly, no one was killed. It was one of the largest quakes in Seattle history, and is the largest since the 1994 LA quake. I have to say, it was kind of a crazy feeling afterwards. It was almost fun. The ground felt like surf in the water. Rooms were swaying around. Like a rollercoaster ride. This is the one time when you know EVERYONE in the state is talking about the exact same thing! There was not too much damage in my place, just a lot of books falling off of shelves and stuff like that. The state capitol has been damaged, and several old buildings have had walls falling down and such. It really is amazing that no one was killed. Several roads were shut down and the traffic has been horrible. I guess its a fair trade-off. Texans get tornadoes, Washingtonians get earthquakes. Best of all, league pass is STILL ON! ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." I saw the pictures and they brought back bad memories. I lived in Santa Monica during the 1994 Northridge earthquake. During the quake, my refrigerator fell over, I lost all of my glasses & dishes, and two pieces of stereo equipment got pancaked. I was not injured, but it was the only time in my life where I ever felt like I was going to die. My heart goes out to the people of Seattle. I would trade an earthquake for a tornado or hurricane any day of the week. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
ZRB - It's all fun and games until Rainier blows you all off the map... Thanks, I'll take hurricanes over volcano's anyday... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Well, Rainier blowing is a serious possibility. Also, it seems that there is going to be a 9.0 earthquake sometime in the future. That scares me. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
