My sister's friend is selling her mittsubishi mirage for 2 grand and frankly there is nothing wrong with except left hand side tail light needs to be replaced because it got on a wreck but the damage has already been fixed. She is selling the car simply to get a another one. Anyone in here with a Mittsubishi Mirage can tell me if it's a good car, worth buying?

Mitsu makes pretty good cars from experience. My friend had bought a 98 Mitsu Galant and to this day it works flawlessly, no problems at all so far, despite nearly 100k miles on it. (It is a 4-cylinder).

I don't know about the Mirage, but if it has decent mileage on it, then don't hesitate with buying the vehicle as long as it is well taken care of inside and out. I would recommend taking it to your local trusted mechanic shop and getting it quickly checked for a few bucks, it will be worth it.

Just do not buy a Mitsubishi Precis (I don't even know if they make those anymore). We owned a 1989 Precis that we bought in 1995 or 1996. That thing was a piece of crap from day one. By 85000 miles, it would not go over 40 mph. I think we got it to 50 mph a couple of times and I felt like I was flying. We sold our Precis to our neighbor for $300 in 2001 (it was not running). They thought they could get it to run, but they couldn't.

Make sure you get the car checked out as someone mentioned above. Considering that it is a 1998, problems may be on the horizon.

    i have a 98 galant
140 thousand, the engine blew, clutch is creaky, and all this happend in 6 months, the timing belt tore, water pump needed to be replaced.

    etc etc

another family member has a 2000 mirage, nice car, but nothing really to offer. seems like a really umm "cheap" car. just the feal you get when you sit in it. UNlike a civic, or a hyundai even.
