Another funny lie was when MacBeth was talking about his status as "senior member" instead of "contributing member" and claimed that he had already contributed to cf.net "through a friend in Texas".

Someone from this board, a longstanding, intelligent poster, who is actually in academics, agreed with me that the "professor" claim was also obviously made up.

Since MacBeth is not here under his regular handle to write a 4000 word typo-filled essay about why all of the above is the truth, I will stop here (but he already has a few (a couple, actually, BJ and RM95) guys who think it makes sense to defend him by attacking others).

Also, I don't mind the lies, they had some entertainment value.

And again, to come back to this thread, I definitely believe 3814's story, sorry for contributing somewhat to the derailment of this thread and I am curious to hear what will come next.

So, you can attack a poster who isn't even here to defend himself, yet I can't poke fun at people who still talk about him. Odd.

BTW, if we want to get into posters' stories that sound like absolute lies, I can think of a couple humdingers.

I've been doing laundry for the last few hours. (Do you believe that? :) ). Came back to find a bunch more replies in this thread from other people who don't have a whole lot (of exciting things) to do today either.

Wow, 3814, I never thought about her being married but I guess it's possible. Do you see a ring? Or it could be a boyfriend. Whatever she is, he's pretty possessive and unreasonable. We all appreciate the lengths you go to in order to provide your bbs friends with bat pictures, and as you can see we're quite willing to keep this thread going until Tuesday. :) Truth can be stranger than fiction...

Just a pic of her at the bus stop? Why not video?

Actually, what you need to do is go to the bus stop over the weekend and discretely install one of these.

    That's when I'll believe you. :D

I doubt he is the "husband" if he screamed at Chad to "stay off the street" because he owns it or something. I think it is beyond a doubt she is a hooker, which means she isn't relationship material even if she wasn't married or already had a man.

    Good lick...I mean luck...though Chad;)

Really? That MacBeth was one sharp cookie. He could write intelligently and e-n-d-l-e-s-s-l-y about any number of topics-- including basketball.

    LOL! :D
And you, my friend, are an asset to the board. I noticed that The Cat, at last, made it back to the GARM. Maybe Clutch could be persuaded to let you back into D&D?? Damn... it's really been kinda slow in there. We could use a little more rum in the Cuba libre!

I haven't defended anything. I just find it funny how passionate you are about disliking this guy. I mean, you obviously follow him around and keep tabs on him when he hasn't even posted on here in like over a year or more. If I'm so keen on the guy, it's news to me. I'm not emailing him as a friend or following him around like you. I'm just curious about your hobbies.

Oh, there were times he really irritated me. One of his specialties was taking a subject that was brought up by someone else and being discussed already, write a long (long!) post in a new thread about the same thing, and sorta "highjacking" the subject. His threads were almost always popular, so the other one would "vanish" after a while... banished back to page 23. I have to give him credit, though, for almost always saying that, "I know this has been discussed in (yada yada), but I think it deserves... me! And a new thread! ;)

Hey, I'm a MacBeth defender, but like I said, I've had my moments when I know I must have bugged someone that I didn't intend to bug. I think Jag did that often, and without thinking too much about it.

I'll give an example of something I did recently. AggieRocket asked me to describe seeing Jimi Hendrix in concert, (this is after I made a fuss, on purpose, with Manny about his group not being in one of the music polls, and the fuss was partly for my own amusement... sorry Manny!) I meant to get back and describe part of what I could remember.

AggieRocket, if you're reading this, his hands were huge, making his Strat look like a toy, and he played lead and chords at the same time. He played his Strat between his legs, behind his back, with his teeth, and was wildly good while doing his acrobatics. There wasn't a light show, like you might expect. Just some spots, some of them colored, of course. He made all those incredible sounds you hear on his albums on stage, without the gear groups a few years later used, like Pink Floyd, for example. Several of the songs were much longer live, naturally, and often more technically brilliant and passionate than his records. He didn't "dial it in." Not once, even the time he was pissed off at Noel Redding, who had opened with Fat Mattress. And I won't describe the "state" I was in when I saw him, but a movie was made whose title accurately describes it. ;) Mitch Mithchell played some hellacious drums. Just amazing. Redding wasn't as good a bass player as he thought he was, but still damn good. I guess I better stop, or I'll enter MacBeth territory, lol.

You could stage a car accident in front of the bus stop. Those kinds of traumatic situations usually burn themselves into people's memories. Just make sure you don't kill anyone ;)

At the rate you are going, you might end up having one by accident.

what you see(read) here is pretty much what you get.

except Im probably a little less reactionary basketballtalk-wise in reallife...

I can also tell you that Smeg, Behad, heypartner, RM95, RMT, and Batman (just to name a few) are the same way in person as on here....

you would probably be surprised to see how close the posting style is to the real thing with some of these guys.

You really need to get away from acedemia for a day and come down to one of the bbs functions...Behads semi-annual pickup game/BBQ is coming up soon (hopefully)...and I guarantee you that the food alone is worth the drive...;)

I've been banned before. It is not that difficult to get back in. (Although it did take me a couple of months, and some begging)

The fact is, we all screw up. If you face your mistake, Clutch will eventually let you back in.

I'm sorry that you feel bad for Mc Lieshisassoff, but I don't.

The boy wanted an audience. He got it. Show is now over. He'll be appearing with Debbie Gibson in "Grease" in London.-Fall '93

I have no idea whether MacJag lied or not. Nobody does. Those who claim he lies have provided zero proof of it. I do think he was a little overly fond of himself in general and his opinions. He could express himself on a message board and that is all that mattered.

For whatever reason he rubbed some people the wrong way to an extent I will never understand and they have set about trying to ruin his reputation as a liar. I could care less if folks believed him or didn't believe him, but it is bizarre for some people to spend so much energy on trying to claim he was a liar.

Completely agree, you guys need to STFU and take your silly "Is he a liar or not" debate elsewhere. You have derailed the thread with at least 2-3 pages worth of crap about Mcbeth. No one gives a damn, so please stick to the topic:rolleyes:
