Our dream PF is likely to command much more than the MLE (there is outside chance that D. Marshal can be had for MLE. Chicago will in all likelyhood resign Chandler. That leaves us with SAR/Swift?D. Marshal as the potential candidates and the market will be hot for them. Therefore POR/MEM/TOR will be unloading some significant contracts with their premier FA in a sign and trade. Teams like Utah might want to get rid of Boozer. New Orleans traded Baron Davis around the trade deadline for virtually nothing and it appears morethan likely that if they can get draft picks/expiring contracts they would part ways with PJ Brown even if they have to include Magloire. This creates an interesting scenario for us to pick a high tier PF and the baggage with it. Which combo would be the best fit for the Rocks?
Boozer/Harping Haward+Spoon+Wesley+Ist I think this is the most no brainer deal of the bunch I skilled small forward and a young power forward with upside (who can play, but just didn't fit the system) ... for three bloated contracts of players who are all over 33 next season (and Howard is signed until the next decade)
If Alvin Williams comes back ala Grant Hill, this is a no-brainer. Alvin Williams is a top 5 point guard. And Donyell Marshall is as good or better than all the available forwards
The Magloire deal is the best. No way NO does it, though, unless they're absolutely desperate to shed contracts.
i don't think most of those have a chance of happening. i think the toronto and protland deals do have a chance, and out of those i would chose shareef and DA. we get a third scorer and a backup for Tmac. i tihnk ratliff is an excellent backup center, but we have deke for now, and after that his contract is too big for a guy that will only play 12 minutes a night.
Not even Isiah Thomas would take both Spoon & JH in a trade. Check the latest Sportsguy video on espn.go.com. Funny spoof on the NBA lottery and Isiah.
First no way Utah is going to give Booz for nothing. Booz is not trash in the league by any means. I dont care who we have to give up outside Yao and Tmac to get booz, but we have no trade values to Utah besides these two. It's not like Utah need some cap room relief desperately.
Where did you come up with these trades? The only one that seems reasonable for the other team is the DA/Rahim one and the Toronto one. Expiring contracts aren't worth Baron Davis, etc. anymore because the new CBA will probably bump the cap up, giving teams more cap room anyway. Even if it doesn't, most of these deals are still pretty lopsided.
