I find it ironic that you dismiss the Qur'an for teaching hate and are spreading hate towards Muslims via this thread as a result.

But yeah, maybe my questioning of your education was not the right question to ask. I questioned it because you take Qur'anic verses and make them universal truths instead of taking them in context, which is typically what uneducated people do. Just because God commanded Moses to slaughter 24000 people in the book of Exodus does not mean that Jews condone killing. The reason I know that is because I take it in context. Just about the entire book of Deuteronomy talks about killing infidels and destroying places of worship. This does not mean that Judeo-Christian beliefs condone this today. The reason I know this is because I take it in context. Just because Isaac and his wife have sex in the view of everyone in the book of Genesis does not mean that public lewdness is a Judeo-Christian principle. The reason I know this is because I take it in context. Just because the Bible was used to justify slavery and later segregagtion does not mean that all Christians are intolerant nor does it mean that the Bible teaches intolerance. I know that because I take those verses in context. I don't selectively read passages, but I read the history behind the passages before forming a judgment.

Maybe you have your reasons for hating Muslims and if you do, then that's your business. We all have prejudices, whether we want to admit them or not. I know I do. However, for the sake of everyone, why not at least to pretend to have respect for one another. We can argue issues, and that's great. That's why we have the BBS. However, when we get to insulting race, family, beliefs, etc. , that's when it gets ugly. There's no need for that and it doesn't help anyone's cause.

 

adeel -- I would estimate that over 10 million muslims celebrated -- whether privately or publicly -- the event of 9-11. Easily. Public sentiment in muslim nations is strongly anti-US and has been this way for 10+ years. Based on the street reaction alone, extrapolating that sample to the hundreds of millions of muslims who inhabit the earth, I can say with full confidence that millions celebrated 9-11. You are attempting to be coy by pretending that not even a million celebrated it. Get real.

 

adeel, youself admitted that Bin Laden has a hugh following in the muslim countries. I don't think if far fectched to think the same people that consideres him an hero would celebrate 9/11. Afterall, Bin Laden is the one who was behind 9/11.

 

adeel, don't participate in the derailing of your own thread. Just put NJ on your ignore list and move on. (I suppose it's way too late for this advice.)

That is the true. I tried to make that point earlier. The one person who claims that the The Koran is so bad, is the person who is spewing, hate and prejudice in this thread.

Again the muslims in the thread have supported nothing offensive, they haven't stuck up for bin laden, or attempted to justify 9/11. We now have TJ also declaring how many muslims were happy about 9/11 based on nothing. The two people most spewing distrust, hate, and bias in this thread are the non-muslims.

 

FB - where did I spew hate for anyone other than the pricks who based their lives on the quran and then went out and lived by the way they interpreted it and blew up a bunch of innocent Americans one morning? Did i say I hated u or anyone else here because they are muslim? Grow the hell up and then wake the hell up. We live in the world we live in today because of a bunch of quran toting muslim extremists who decided to take some passages their own way....funny but its also the way the media portrays them. TJs claim of people celebrating in not unfounded and you know it. If you dont, then u are severly more uneducated than u claim I am...the entire country saw muslims dancing in the streets when the towers fell...dont try to spin it....it happened.

 

Good post. But I would consider NJRockect a consistent fellow (i.e. not a hypocrite) if he views Christians and Bible in same fashion as he does Muslims and Quran.

some of you guys are complete idiots...... if the quran was SOO in favor of killing and supporting terrorist activities then wouldn’t you see more killings in the U.S.??...you would see suicide bombings everyday in your own city…about 7-9 million muslims…and nothing since 9/11…I thought it was jihad time……

and NJRocket the fact that you finished high school does not make you educated. and the fact that you make comments such as "teahces hate and killing" means you have defenitely not read the Quran.... it cannot be read without the interpretations....you don't just read the traslation to english.......if you were'nt such an ignorant fuc you would know that.

I didn't claim you weer uneducated. You spewed hate when you talked about using the Koran for toilet paper. That is the holy book not of just a few that are terrorists, but the millions that aren't. If you said you hated the way extremists viewed the Koran that would have been different. You aimed your remarks at the Koran in general.

The fact that you and terrorists have the same view of what the Qu'ran teaches should tell you that it is wrong. Because peace loving muslims have a different view of what the book teaches then that should also show you that the book can be taken out of context. Your generalizing only breeds hatred and negative stereotypes.

2. AggieRocket praises the idea.

3. Max says he already has two.

4. Wnes makes a snide (and clever) remark about Bush's police state.

5. No Worries makes another snide remark about Bush and his disdain for Islam.

6. Brightside requests an online Q'ran.

7. Then you say: "I'm actually out of toilet paper......where did u say i could get one again?"

It goes on from there. HayesStreet, from whom I half-expect an anti-Muslim statement to come, says merely that we judge Muslims by actions more than by a book. Interesting point. Bigtexxx then says what you later echo, that he could have told adeel that this thread was going to be a disaster. You then agree with him, even though the only thing to befall the thread so far was your dumb-ass comment and the resulting reprimands from others. As the thread continues, only you and bigtexxx follow in this vein. TJ and deepblue comment about terrorism but don't go to the extreme of insulting the Koran. And, by this time, we're into page 2 and the conversation has moved on to terrorists and 9/11 (a subject you brought up), so the book giveaway is now irrelevant.

So the ****-storm you predicted was a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, since you account for a full 50% of it.
