Thanks for the link Bob. Another good site I found, even though it's made by the rivals.com people, is www.texashoops.com Up to date and has player and team rankings.

I must give props to my alma matter, St. Michael's Academy. The Lady Crusaders won the TAPPS 4A state championship today, 57-38.

This is real cool. Yeah, are team just slipped into the Playoffs. We BEAT KF twice this year but one went to KF. Scenario: 4 seconds left, KF inbounds, shoots and misses. WE pick up ball and are mugged but the CLOCK didn't move. KF got the ball (Simon) and he was fouled after time was supposed to expire but the refs allowed it. He made the 2 shots and we were SCREWED. Darn KF-C people!

    Small world, huh? [IMG]

We had one of the best FBall teams we ever had during your SR year. That team could've gone to State.

    OH WELL!!

Willowridge in the past was always known as a football powerhouse. Ever since Thurman Thomas' days there. I haven't kept track of high school football like I used to; how have we been doing? Following high school football was awesome. I remember the powerhouse teams from Yates, Willowridge, Madison, Odessa Permian, San Antonio Holmes, etc. back then. I need to get back into following it; it was a lot of fun.

The year Willowridge won state in b-ball (94?) my HS alma-mater almost beat them in the playoffs - were up with 2 minutes in the game when the best player fouled out -- Willowridge then went off and won by 4 or 5. Every team after that they beat by about 20 or so. [IMG]

Ocose football teams met a few years in a row (regular season) and that would always be about 50 -3, Willowridge!

Not so good. Like you, I don't keep up nearly as much as I used to, but I think we've had a few decent teams. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, this past year we had one of the better teams we've had in a while.

But of course, the BBall team has been the marque attraction the past few years. And I've heard that, as good as this year's team is with TJ, Ewing, and Co., the next few years could be just as good as there is plenty of talent in the "cupboard", so to speak.

    TAKE CARE!!

In the fall of 1980, my lowly doormat of a high school football team (Santa Fe) beat Willowridge with Thurman Thomas, 27-0. Of course, this was Willowridge's 2nd year of existance, and their team was comprised of sophomores and freshmen only.

I remember this because I recorded my only interception of the season in that game. [IMG]

    Behad,

Haha. Sorry, I was 10 years old at the time; I don't remember that. [IMG]

And where the heck is Santa Fe? I remember back in the mid-80's Willowridge was 4A I believe and the powers in 4A seemed to always be teams such as Willowridge, Bay City, West Orange Stark, and some others I'm forgetting. Never heard of Santa Fe, though.

LOLOL...never heard the words "Santa Fe" and "football powers" in the same sentence! [IMG]

Santa Fe is located along Hwy. 6, between Alvin and Galveston. My senior year (80-81) we were 6-4, which set an all time wins record for SF! We were in that district with Bay City, Willowridge, El Campo, Wharton, et al. We were (and still are) one of the smallest 4A schools around.
