That's what New Jersey thought last year against Detroit. They won game five (double overtime thriller), but still lost the series. Detroit handles adversity very well.

They should win tonight, but even if they don't they'll still have a good chance of winning the series.

Miami is rock solid though. That series will be a toss up.

Indiana doesn't have to horses to take Detroit to seven games, I'm afraid. While I'd love to see the Pistons lose, there's no denying that the Pacers are cooked.

Their backcourt is atrocious - it's only bright spot is Tinsley, but his bad shot selection can kill the Pacers half-court offense at times, and plus he's just come back from injury so extended minutes will take their toll. Miller isn't getting the open looks he was last series, so save for game two he's been missing his shots. Anthony Johnson is just awful, plus he's playing hurt. They're front-court is excellent on the boards... but Jermaine O'Neal is shooting the ball every time he touches it, and more often than not throwing up bricks. He really needs to grow a pair, and stop whining every time someone lays a finger on him.

Their only hope is slowing the game down to the point where lucky three-point shooting can give them the edge. But, they'd have to be incredibly lucky to win another game.

The few open looks he is getting, shockingly, he's not even close. And this is the guy who once said that he expects to make 70 percent of his open looks.

Indiana's strange run is coming to an end. What a year.

i'm surprised the figure was that low. reggie has to be the best wide open shooter i have ever seen. bar none. when they get on a fastbreak and he fans out to the corner and gets that wide open 3, i literally can't remember him missing it. obviously i don't see every game of every indy season, but it seems like i'd catch a miss here and there.

and i'm not talking about good looks, i'm talking about wide open looks here. the kind where lots of players are almost too wide open and can end up missing. he just never did/does. it almost seems like you'd psych yourself out after a while and start thinking about how you never miss it and the mess up but he's been perfect. hornacek might be the second best wide open guy i've seen but no one handles the no-one-running-at-you-stop-and-read-the-label-if-you-feel-like-it shots like reggie.

But, like it or not, he's one of the best swingmen in the league and easily their best player. With him, they win sixty games. Without him, they hover at around .500.

Who would take him? If he's being shopped, they'd need to get an equivalent star in return - maybe Paul Pierce or Ray Allen - if they want to remain an elite team.

It would take a GM with eighty-pound balls to trade a franchise centerpiece for Artest, when you all know that if he goes postal just one more time he's gone for good. Isiah Thomas might do it, but all he has to offer are mediocre players and picks. Bird is smart, so Ron suits up for the Pacers next year.
