I know the doctor said there is nothing he can do for me, but I was wondering if anyone has broken any ribs and may have some suggestions for ways to feel more comfortable. So far I have learned that: 1. Stairs are bad 2. Sex difficult but manageable 3. The better my posture, the better I feel 4. Vicodin makes you feel ok at night, but terrible in the morning 5. Waking up 6-7 times a night really impacts your work productivity
How old are you, male or female and how did you break them??? Here is a lesser known fact, one of the leading causes of complications with people with broken ribs is pneumonia. The pneumonia is caused by less frequent "sighs" or deep breaths due to the pain. My only advice would be to make a conscious effort to take a deep breath at least once an hour to avoid this type of complication. Good luck!
