Here's the link, giddy. Just click on search, click on ascending order, and put your name where it says, "Search By User Name." Actually, in my case, it shows another thread first, "Cato revisited," as my first thread. My post in yours beat it by 15 or 20 minutes, and I mentioned it being my first one. Now, a bazillion posts later, I wonder, still, what the hell I'm doing. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31151
Hmmm. I think the search function must be down because I can't seem to find my first interesting post.
My first post showed my great insight on why Stromile Swift will be better than Kenyon Martin. I forgot how much of a hard-on I had for Swift back in the day. http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18533
Here is my first post-- actually posted as RichRocket (2041 posts) on May 19, 2000 before I switched to my GIDDYUP alter ego: "So many of you are so ready to get rid of Kelvin Cato, yet in many of these scenarios (except those involving Olowakandi) we pick up no true 5 in return. Who's gonna play 5? Hakeem is a warrior but an aging one. Where is Kevin Kunnert, Paul Mokeski, Otto Moore, Dick Cunningham, Zaid Abdul-Aziz, or especially Mo Malone when you need them!!! I'd love to have Kenyon Martin or Stromile Swift and Darius Miles but nobody on the draft board can do the job that Cato does. Who's going to fill that hole? It's fine to dream but keep your toes, at least, on the terra firma..... This is a GREAT PLACE... A LOT OF FUN!"
that was a thread about the best 3 point shooter in rockets history. interestingly (well not really), i was using capital letters then. i wonder when i switched. i'd say celebrating past rockets was a good way to use my first post. i lurked for a few weeks and then posted the day after i registered. then i apparently didn't post for the next 6 days. i guess it took awhile to refuel my genius back then. and i'm freakin' dying reading that Super Pillow! post RC Cola. first, it's an informercial on the bbs. second, it's about a pillow. third, you think it's so cool. and 4th you tell nobody to be offended. lmao. that is greatness. i'm afraid to read some of my earlier posts.
"I have a prediction: Anderson will sign tonight and there will be a press conference tomorrow. how about that." I started a thread about it and came across like a real ass, even getting some of the mods riled up. It is almost embarrassing to read through it now. Thanks for letting me stay.
One of those odd times I got somehow locked out. I think I changed my email address and I didn't get a new password for a few days so I just re-registered and started over. Somebody started a tribute thread to Bill CLinton and I just had to get in on the lovefest....
This search function needs to go. I'd rather not be reminded that I was a complete ass back in 2000, especially to Jeff over the arena issue.
"its over oh, btw im new hey!" ----------------------------------------------------------- i don't know why I have the sad smiley at the end
I remember my first post on the old board was a plea to get more people in the chatroom, during the offseason no less.
http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5536 about Mobley leaving or staying when he was a free agent way back when. whats funny about it is that it was so long ago we were talking about cat signing a long term contract. He did sign a long term contract and its been so damn long its alomst expired.
I actually remember posting on the old board once or twice...then didnt speak up again until the one I posted earlier...adn sicne I couldnt remember my pass...i just re-registered... Wish I could remember what I posted it under...
Gee giddy, first post and you're dropping references to not only Otto Moore BUT Zaid Abdul-Aziz as well! I think it would be safe to say that you were different even in the beginning!
Mine was pre-1999 and I can barely remember last week, so who knows what it was about. The oldest post the search function can dig up is a thread I started dissing the WB and the Rockets brass for daring to tell the halftime viewing audience to "stay tuned for news about a website you won't want to miss", then following it up with a promo for the Gallery Furniture's web site instead of this great website.
