That reminds me, after my accident in Houston, the driver of the other car apparently fought the ticket, and I actually was subpoenaed to testify. Fortunately, I had a lawyer friend who owed me a favor, and he managed to get me out of it. I wasn't about to drive over 500 miles round trip on a Thursday just to be a witness in a case regarding a traffic ticket. (I wondered, too, if the guy was fighting the ticket because he was also cited for not having insurance. The guy actually had insurance, but the card he had with him at the time of our accident was expired.) I'd have been really mad if I had gone down to Houston and then seen the case dismissed once I got there (I wouldn't have been mad about the ticket being dismissed.
