Say there were to be a NBA redraft among all 30 NBA teams on all current NBA players, and your team has #1 overall pick. This is not a fantasy question so you don't have to count the individual stats into the equation here. So, to build your team for the future, with LeBron, Garnett, Duncan, Amare and DWade all on board, would you spend your #1 overall pick on TMac?

Duncan or Garnett depending on who their agents are... Isn't that terrible nowadays how especially in the major leagues, the number 1 draft choice isn't really the best player but the best player that is signable? ( i.e. The Drew brothers )

I don't see how there could be any choice except for Duncan(win now mentality) or Lebron(the long term choice). Garnett makes no sense. The guy has never done anything in terms of team success. While the Spurs were perenial contenders with Duncan, even in his rookie season. He is without a doubt the most dominant player in the game. Garnett is basically Lebron + 10 years. If you're going for the guy with gaudy all-around stats, Lebron makes much more sense than KG.

I would go with Garnett cause IMHO he is the best player in the game. And he gives his all on the court.

This poll is as bogus as they come. Why not ask if TMac is the best player currently plus the best player imaginable? Everybody knows we'd trade Tracey for Garnett or Duncan if that were an option. Yeah, there are two or three better players. What a revelation! The people who voted yes are insane, by the by. That doesn't devalue McGrady. He's a top five player for god's sake. And we have a top ten guy behind him. Does Kevin? Does Tim? This poll is specifically designed to make us feel bad about having a top five player instead of a top one player.

No offense but dumbest poll ever. If Tracey's not the greatest player not only now but for now plus the future he loses. Nice. Nice and dumb.

I'd take James, KJ and Duncan over T-Mac.

But I would also take T-Mac over Wade, Kobe, Nowitzky, and Shaq.

I love T-mac, but I would take Lebron. Too much potential there and he's already shown he can do so much. If not LeBron I'd take one of the big guys (KG or Duncan), but long-term I'd take Lebron.

    Prime Shaq or Sirloin Shaq?

Prime would get you a few rings with the right people. That has been proven.

If it is on current talent, I would have to say Duncan.

    To win NOW: Duncan

IF you have the guy as a spring chicken: SHAQ

IF you have a guy right now (current age): Lebron. (Amare and Wade are not far behind)
