Yao is way overated at this point of his career. He might be great one day, but he is just an above average player right now. When you are hypered as an "all-star", a "dominating" player, that is way overated.

Tmac is overated because he hasn't won anything yet. Personally, I think TMac is the most completed player in this league, but players are measured by winning, he will always be overated until the time the Rockets start winning, the same goes for Mr. Carter.

NBA players don't like Yao because, to a large degree, he is not one of them. He came in with all of the hype in the world and has not fulfilled the lofty expectations set for him yet. Fair or not, he is the outsider into the NBA game and with all of the accolades, honors, and endorsements he's able to draw, with a lack of total results on the court, that's why he's viewed by some as overrated.

As for McGrady...when you quit on your team, forcing your way out of TWO cities, and make comments to the effect of "it feels great to finally reach the second round," that's what you are going to get from your fellow players.

How DOES it feel to reach the second round, Tracy McGrady? Oh, that's right...
