Inevitable to YOU. Just like most of your "inevitable* absolute statements that eneded up being wrong.

Well, of course unless you are saying the *inevitable* NBA Title that Jeff Van Gundy will win w/the Rox! :D

So, we wait...heh heh...that's the final proof.

Nonsense. In professional sports the firing of a head coach (or conversely, the coach's defection to another franchise) is as certain as death and taxes. It may not happen now, it may not happen next year, it may not happen for a dozen years, but it IS inevitable.

    Some coaches actually do retire.

Ok, so fired, retired, or switching jobs...hey that's a lot like everyone else in the world!

It is safe to say (unless he quits the way he did in New York), Van Gundy will not "retire" from the Rockets.

fired >> switching jobs >>>>> "retiring on their own terms."

Bum Phillips summed it up best "Coach starts gettin' fired day after he's hired."

As much as it pains me to say it, and as much as I don't want to admit it....

    Houston did NOT choke.

In fact, tey overachieved this year. They took a much better team to 7 games. They played much better than they should have on paper.

NO.....if the refs don't job us in game 5, we win this series, hands down. But, if my aunt had a package, she would be my uncle...

There are times in the series when we choked, no doubt.
There were times in the series where we were out played as well. So why is everyone trying to turn gray back into black and white?

Trying to decide whether we lost this series because of choking or being dominated won't help us improve, nor will it help us make wiser draft/trade decisions in the off-season.

Stop whining. Be proactive: focus on what can be done now.

Even if Gundy wins and is loved....at some point, he will want to retire. Rudy T was the rare animal who would see a team through rebuilding....

Some coaches are re-builders, some are after the guts and glory...JVG will retire when he sees that the opportunity for rings is gone.

JVG did not miss adjustments, the players shots were a collective pile of junk.

p.s. Choke City ? We won the first two on their floor...this was NOT Mother's Day in Houston...that's where the CHoke City lable was first pasted across the pages of I think the Houston Post. ANd Dallas is a superior team right now, and have been for a couple years. Really, how long did you really expect that problem at the 2 to keep hiding? We weren't going much farther then we got, but still should have won the series. But choke ? Naw...

Juwan Howard needs a GOOD back up with Bowen the third option & scrub.
