Pronounced Fuuuuhhh ....... It originates from the land of Vietnam and it is one of the best god damn things on earth imo. It is a Beef Noodle soup. Comes with Rice noodles.... in soup and meats ( Beef balls, Round-eye, Flank, tripe) and has thinly chopped onions and cilantro and then theres a side dish of bean sprouts and mint leaves you can add in and a lime wedge you squeeze in. And then you add Siracha or Hoison sauce to the soup depending on your taste.

It's one of my favorite foods and if you don't like it at first give it a 2nd chance cause it will grow on you gauranteed! My mouth is watering and my stomach is growling just writing this post and thinkin about PHO. Bottom line is if you haven't tried better go to your local vietnamese restaurant cause its Pho-king Bomb diggity!

    adeelsiddiqui,

make sure you find out the ingredients of the pho you try before you try it. Sometimes, pork bones are used to flavor pho. I know that you are Muslim and pork is a no-no :)

It's pronounced "FUH". A Vietnamese woman I used to schtrumpf taught me how to pronounce it. "It's like saying F*CK but the C and the K are silent".

    :D

I love lots of hoisin sauce in mine, but someone recently told me it was bad for you. Anyone know anything about that?

IMO - Pho Saigon is certainly the RIGHT place for it. I don't eat beef, so I have their chicken concoction and it's delish. MMMMMM.

It's just beef noodle soup with rice noodles. Yes, be careful of what you order 'cause it can come with weird stuff but basic Pho Tai (SP?) uses just thinly sliced pieces of beef.

It is good stuff and I will agree with an above poster who said that it grows on you. The first time I had it I thought it was just okay. But the second time was way better and now I love it. And I'm a very picky eater.

It's the best place downtown, definitely. Unfortunately, I cannot eat pho during the summer. Just too damn hot.
