I don't consider Baron Davis was an aging veteran, etc, or a headcase even, yet he still got dealth to the Warriors for expiring trash/cheap contracts. Headcases on bad teams are our biggest hope right now to get the best talent available. Problem is, there probably won't be a Baron Dvais situation. Oh, and what's to stop us from letting those contracts expire? We'll be down to 30 mill in cap, sign Yao and probably have money left over with the new CBA cap (which is projected to be up to 60 mill).
How about Antuwon Walker from the Celtics? Is he a free agent now? I like the way he played against the Pacers. He can rebound, drive it to your hole and shoot the three.
Sounds good to me. Weatherspoon, Howard, Wesley, Baker/Moochie for Pierce, LaFrentz We's still have the MLE and our first to sort out the 4. Could we afford three max contracts (Yao, T-Mac, Pierce) and LaFrentz though?
Do you guys honestly thing Boston will trade Pierce? PP is the best player Boston has seen since Bird and McHale and I don't see them trading him for our garbage and JHo.
They need to rebuild, and Boston fans are not happy with Pierce right now. We get them out of two HUGE contracts in exchange for great cap flexibility a year from now, I don't think it's that big of a stretch.
Exactly. I've seen a couple of articles already that say PP could be on the block. And I know that Bob ryan of the boston globe is calling for PP to be shipped out. And if there's one GM in the league that isn't afraid of remaking his team it's Trader Danny. Seriously, how many inexplicable, kneejerk reactionary trades has this guy done already. First he moves Twan for Lafrentz, then when things were going south he brought in Ricky Davis. Later for some idiotic reason he got into the Sheed trade as a 3rd party in order to make it work. Nobody was looking to pick up Chuck Atkins, but he did. And for what? He said that he didn't want sheed going to the Knicks, so instead he lets him go to Detroit and win a championship? Later he trades for Payton, and then trades him out again to bring back Walker, only to bring back Payton again. Seriously, at this point, I wouldn't put anything past Ainge on the trade front. And remember last year when he was talking about the benefits of getting a better lottery pick. He is one of the only GMs I've heard actually be upfront about losing games being good for the franchise. So I know he's not afraid to blow the whole team up and try to start from scratch. I'm not saying that this PP deal is going to go down. But with this season's Baron Davis and Vince Carter deals, and Danny Ainge's itchy trigger finger, I can't help but wonder about the possibilities.
No way would i want Antoine Walker. Just a hunch. I especially don't want him if he's going to drive it to my hole...
Ohh man....Pierce and McGrady........ that'd be frickin' sweet. I'm drooling at the thought of those two on the same team. With them two and Yao who would the defense double team?
